Mitser is such a sweet girl!  She will make a great companion to a lucky home.  Mitser takes a longer time to warm up to men.  She is wonderful with women and children of all ages.  Mitser is the quietest dog we have had.  She will lay with you on the sofa at night or in bed.  Mitser is crated when left alone - she will run to the crate and go right in.  Mitser would love a fenced yard so she can run and play.

6/27/15

Mitser is a great dog!  She loves to be outside as long as you are with her.  She enjoys going for long walks.  Mitser is a quiet dog and only barks when somebody comes to the front door.  She has gone camping with her foster family and has enjoyed that.  Mitser crates very easily and follows her foster mom everywhere!  Included are a couple of updated pictures.

3/07/15

Mitser is doing well in her foster home.  She loves to go for car rides.  Mitser walks nicely on leash and doesn't pull unless she sees another dog.  She is crated when left alone and does well with this.  Mitser sleeps in bed with her foster mom.  Everybody that meets Mitser falls in love with her because she is so gentle.  If you have a home without other dogs and are looking for a girl with a great disposition, apply today to adopt Mitser!

12/29/14

Mitser has arrived at her new foster home and they report that she is such a sweetheart.  Mitser loves to cuddle and give kisses.  She has also enjoyed going on walks.  Mitser is very gentle with children.  She just wants to get attention and be by your side.

12/17/14

Mitser is still looking for a foster home.  This sweet girl loves being with people, but would prefer to find a home without other dogs.  She is wonderful in her crate when left alone.  If you can help Mitser and keep her out of the kennel, please apply today!

12/05/14

Mitser is a cuddle buddy who wants nothing more than to snuggle alongside her people.  She likes to explore the fenced yard of her temporary foster home, but is usually more interested in keeping an eye on her people.  She doesn't bark much and welcomes strangers into the home with her tail wagging.  Mitser would do best in a home with no other pets at this time.  She has been introduced to children and toddlers and seems to really love them.

Mitser is great in the car and jumps right in to go for rides.  She is crate trained and walks well on leash.  Mitser will sit and give you her paw.  She is also very gentle when taking treats.

Mitser will be spayed on Monday and is in urgent need of a foster home.  This easygoing girl would love even more to find her forever family before the Holidays.  If you are a good match for Mitser, please offer to foster or adopt this beautiful girl!

11/14/14

Mitser has arrived at her new foster home.  Included are a few updated pictures.  Mitser's foster mom will be updating her page soon once she gets to learn more about her!

11/08/14 -

Mitser was found as a stray in very poor shape.  The shelter reports that Mitser is as sweet as can be and good with other dogs.  Mitser has a tumor on her chest that will need removed once she gains weight.  She also has an eye infection that has been left untreated.  This poor girl appears to have led a very rough life in her past.  She was in danger of being euthanized at the shelter due to her medical issues, so AABR was contacted to help save this sweet girl.

Mitser has been moved to safety in a temporary foster home near the shelter and she will be transported to AABR next week.  Her temporary home indicates she is the sweetest girl and has been catching up on some much needed rest.  We will update her page with better pictures and more information once she arrives at her foster home in Maryland.

Please help support Mitser's medical care and make a donation in her name.  Once she gains some weight, we will be having her lump removed and biopsied.  This girl will soon be on her way to a much better future!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
