Helio continues to be the best house guest!  He is patiently waiting for his forever home and will be a fantastic addition.  Helio is housetrained, walks great on leash, loves toys, and enjoys car rides.  He is searching for a lap to rest his head on.  Please give this boy a chance to show you how much love he can bring to your home.

Helio is patiently waiting for the right forever home.  He would do best in a quiet environment where he can snuggle up with somebody.  Helio does need to be the only dog in the home.  He walks well on leash and has a lot of love to give a lucky family!

Helio is wondering why he has not been adopted yet!  This handsome boy is just looking for a lap to snuggle upon.  Helio is doing great in his foster home.  He is a very sweet houseguest.  Helio is a playful boy who loves his toys.  He walks nicely on a leash and loves car rides.  Helio enjoys snuggling up next to somebody, and is happiest putting his head on your lap.  He does not need to use a crate and is able to be left with free run of all areas except the kitchen.  Helio is a happy boy who is always wiggling.  He can get very excited when people come into the home, but his foster mom is working hard on this.  Helio recently had a dog sitter come and take care of him, and he got a glowing report. Helio also had a kennel stay that went very well.  If you are interested in adopting Helio, apply today!

Helio is doing great in his foster home.  He loves to look out of the window and keep watch over the neighborhood.  Helio has complete run of the house all day except for food areas.  He is fine if there is a baby gate keeping him out of places.  Helio loves playing with his toys and enjoys having a ball thrown for him.  He loves to cuddle up on the couch and bed.  Once he feels comfortable with you, he is a love bug.  Helio is fully housetrained and will let you know when he has to go out.  Because he can get excitable with new people on a leash, Helio would do great in a quiet home that has a yard for him.

1/03/16

Helio continues to come out of his shell more with each day and is making wonderful progress in foster.  He is a well behaved boy in the home.  Helio is going to be a great companion for a lucky family!

12/15/15

Helio is settling in nicely.  He is loving being back in a house again!  Helio enjoys playing with his ball and rope toys.  He is housetrained and will let you know when he has to go out.  Helio walks great on leash and is learning to get a harness put on him.  He is able to have full run of the house when left alone.  Helio loves to sit and look out the window.  He also enjoys being given attention and sleeping on the bed!  Helio loves meeting new people and is a great house guest.  He knows sit and will give you his paw.  We are working on other commands.  Helio is a very sweet boy who would love a home of his own!

12/06/15 -

Helio was found as a stray and has spent the last 6 weeks in the shelter.  He was transported to our vet this weekend, where he will be neutered and brought up to date on all vet care.  Helio was very happy to start this new chapter in life.  He was very playful with the volunteers and traveled great in the car.  Helio will be arriving at his foster home in a few days.  We will update his page once his foster mom learns more about him.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
