It is hard to imagine that this pretty lady hasn't found her forever home yet!  Crystal continues to thrive with her foster family, consisting of human parents and a four legged brother and sister.  She recently visited a pet store to see her opinion of cats.  Crystal checked them out, but was pretty unfazed.  She is a very laid back girl, but does get a case of the wiggles on a daily basis.  Crystal has mastered the full body tail wag.

Crystal just had a big weekend.  Another family with four people and a senior boxer visited for a long weekend and she was a trooper.  Crystal warmed up to everyone new by the end of the weekend.  Every day she becomes more confident.  Crystal is a joy to have in the home.  She would make a loving and sweet companion to any family.

7/23/16

Crystal has caught a case of the wiggles because she is so happy living the life of a loved house pet.  There will be no more breeding for this former mill momma.  She is living her new life to the fullest and adores her foster brother and sister, as well as her humans.  Crystal is full of kisses and cuddles.  She has left her old life behind and couldn't be happier.  Crystal is still exploring and learning all the wonderful things that life has in store for her.  Every day, she gets a little braver and more confident.  This girl loves her crate and is perfectly housebroken.  She also walks great on leash.  Crystal would bring joy and smiles to any family.

7/06/16

Crystal is doing wonderful in her foster home!  She loves her foster siblings and follows them around, enjoying every new adventure.  The backyard is a favorite spot and Crystal is content to either sit and watch the world or join a game of chase.  All of the exercise and running around has helped Crystal to lose some baby weight and she is now a trim 70 lbs!

Crystal loves the humans in the house and has learned to enjoy cuddling and affection.  She is excited to greet her parents and does a happy dance with some serious boxer tail shaking.  Crystal is still wary of strangers.  She is a polite lady who prefers to keep to herself and meet new people when she is ready.  Crystal is crate trained, housebroken, and walks well on leash.  She will make a wonderful addition to any family!

Curious and cautious are the best ways to describe this beautiful mill mom.  Crystal is coming out of her shell and loves to carefully explore the world.  She is learning about toys, yummy food and treats, stairs, and how to be an inside dog.  One taste of this good life and she is never turning back!

Crystal still hesitates to go through doorways, but she is learning that there is normally something great on the other side.  She loves her foster brother and sister, and looks to them for guidance.  Crystal walks well on leash and is both crate trained and housebroken.  She also loves her humans.  Crystal wants to please and is proving to be a quick learner.  Once she is more settled, we will start working on basic commands.  Right now, she is just happy to be an inside dog!

Crystal has now been spayed and is adjusting to her foster home.  She is slowly coming out of her shell and getting more comfortable.  She loves being around the two other dogs.  We will update Crystal's page as she continues to settle in.

5/29/16 -

Crystal was surrendered to AABR from a puppy mill.  She just arrived at our vet's office, where she will be spayed and brought up to date on all vet care.  Crystal will then be arriving at her new foster home.  We will update her page once she gets settled in and we learn more about her.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
