Monroe has gotten taller and still has that infectious puppy energy and spirit.  She is very curious and loves to run and play.  Monroe does very well meeting new people and new dogs.  She plays well and gets along with all breeds.  Included is a photo of Monroe playing with bubbles, which is a favorite activity.  She also loves to chase balls and Frisbees, and will jump and spin in the air for them.  If you are interested in adding Monroe to your family, apply today!

Monroe has been doing very well in foster.  She has been great on leash and listens well to commands.  Monroe loves to play and continues to explore her environment.  She is crate trained, but has been given free run the past few days without any problems.  Monroe is now housebroken.  She loves to chase balls and run around the yard.  Monroe is going to be a fantastic addition to a lucky family!

7/23/16

Monroe is having a great time playing in her fenced yard.  Her curiosity is endless as she explores the house and backyard full of squirrels and birds.  She has mastered how to sit and is now learning how to walk better on leash with her harness.  She does fantastic with meeting new people.  Monroe is having fun with her new foster siblings.  She is also turning into a great snuggle buddy with her foster parents.

7/12/16

Monroe is doing great and settling in at her foster home.  She is still a puppy and needs work with manners and housebreaking.  Monroe is loving, affectionate, and wants to please.  She is being socialized with other dogs, and does very well with them.  Monroe is also great with people.  She would do best with a fenced yard, as she loves to run outside and is a very active girl.

7/06/16

Monroe received her freedom ride from the shelter on July 4th!  She is settling in well at her foster home, where she is living with two other boxers and a 7 yr old child.  Monroe is learning how to use the dog door.  She is a very sweet and energetic young girl.  During the transport, Monroe loved the attention and just wanted to snuggle with the new people she met.  We will update Monroe's page as she continues to settle in at her foster home.

6/29/16 -

Monroe was found as a stray and is estimated to be around a year old.  She is a very sweet girl and gets along well with other dogs.  Monroe also doesn't seem to mind the cats at the shelter.  Monroe will be spayed next week and then will be arriving at her new foster home.  We will get better pictures of Monroe when she is transported next weekend.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
