- 06/06/01 - Day 4
They Play!!!!!!! = ) Charlie's charm
has finally won her over...
After 3 days of rebuffs and growls,
Brandy and Charlie are about to collapse from exhaustion. They started
playing around 6:30 this morning. It is now 9:15am and they are
"dog tired" from their sudden and immediate friendship.
Our Charlie is nothing if not persistent
and indomitable. And Brandy was obviously stressed out from her recent rescue
and spaying.
No more accidents either, she in out
of the crate at night, and has been left out with Charlie for about an hour
while we were out, without as much as a piece of paper having been touched.
For the life of me, I can't figure out
what she could do wrong to end up being an outcast to someone's garage.
She's extremely well mannered and a complete doll!
We'll keep you updated.
- 6/2/01 - Brandy
is a beautiful brindle and white healthy Boxer Girl, about four years old. She
has natural ears, a docked tail, about 65 lbs, and is very gentle, and very
sweet.
She came to Boxer Rescue when her
owner finally decided that Brandy didn’t fit in with a second marriage, and
had her relegated to live in the garage. Brandy has been pretty well
trained. She comes when called, knows 'no' and 'sit', likes car rides, and
seems like she has been house trained, although she has had a few accidents.
Possibly due to her new situation, or maybe because of the time spent in the
garage. She is very smart, and I’m sure that she will get it soon.
She also doesn’t seem to know how to
play with other dogs. Charlie, our 6 yr old neutered male Boxer has
tried to bring her toys, and initiate play, only to be turned down abruptly.
Too early
to tell, but she may do better in a single dog home.
Brandy is not fond of the crate, but
has slept quietly two nights in
one. She does not like to be left alone in the crate. We'll have
to
see if we can trust leaving her out as we get to know her better.
She has just been spayed and
vaccinated. DOB 03/18/1997
