Thanks to the hard work and good
relationship of AABR Philadelphia, PA area
volunteer Colleen Kane, this grant will help
AABR rescue and care for many of the dogs
coming for the Philly area.
Philadelphia, PA is one of
the ASPCA's targeted Mission Orange Sites.

Adopt A Boxer Rescue promotes the need
for active participation of owners in the training of their dogs.
In our increasing attempt to try and prevent more dogs from becoming strays
or being surrendered due to behavior issues, AABR supports the need for
owners to become active partners in their dog's training. AABR hosts
training events from time to time in our area, and will also post other
training events that we feel will assist our efforts towards this goal.

Medical Bills Spring Fundraiser
Fun in the Sun Medical Bills Spring Fundraiser
AABR takes in many dogs that other rescues would turn away. Dogs that are
heartworm +, heart conditions, cancer, blind, deaf, mange, ACL tears and hip
dysplasia . Without the support of the public we could not continue to help
these dogs. Please consider donating to AABR’s medical fund.
As appreciation for your support to AABR, each $25 donation to the
medical fund received by June 15
,
2012, will be automatically entered into a drawing for a 7
day 6 night stay in July in Ocean Beach NY.
Village of Ocean Beach, the unofficial capital
of the half mile wide by 32 mile long barrier beach of Fire
Island, is just five miles south of Long Island, New York.
Ocean Beach is dynamically alive with people
and activities during the summer... Beautiful supervised ocean
and bay beaches, lovely one family homes, restaurants, hotels,
bed & breakfasts, nightlife, movies, concerts, youth group,
tennis, basketball, baseball, art shows, an international film
festival, dock concert performances, shops, ferry and water taxi
services, little red wagons and bicycles and in the summer,
there are no cars!"

The 7th annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Parade and Festival will take place on
Saturday, May 19, 2012 in downtown Bethesda, MD. Organized and sponsored by
the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rotary Club, past years have brought together over
5,000 participants and hundreds of dogs for a day of fun.
Strut Your Mutt Bethesda 2012 will take place on May 19 between 10AM and 3PM
in the Woodmont Triangle Area of Bethesda at Norfolk Ave. and Woodmont Ave.
The day will be packed with fun activities for kids, adults, and their best
friend!

PMAD is getting closer and to say Walter and I are excited is the
understatement of the year! Your receiving this email because your
rescue/shelter has signed up to come and join the fun on our big day! I

can. Though we have arranged advertising this year, flyers always help
us greatly. Thank you!
We are still working very hard on Saturday, as we will be, up til the
night before.
Many of us "out of town-ers" have rooms reserved for Friday night.
Walter and I have toyed with the idea of what to do for Friday eve this
year. We decided that, even though a fundraiser is what we usually have,
this year, we want to treat you. I'm inviting those in the area to come
eat with us. This will give us a chance to catch up with our friends we
have made through PMAD over the last nine years as well as get to know
our newer groups attending.
We also want to discuss our thoughts on next year which will be our
tenth! A decade of PMAD fighting, begging, educating, marching,
protesting, rescuing and rehabilitating. Many tears were shed, some
battles won, some not.
Since each and every single one of you ARE PMAD! We want your
involvement....so we bribe you with dinner :) I will order a few
platters from the Eden and depending on how many of you care to join us,
we will either eat there, at the motel or at Nay Aug park in the
pavilion. So please respond to this email and let me know if your
available and how many in your party!

Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, usually draws thousands of theater fans, pet
lovers, and a whole bunch of animal-friendly Broadway stars. Best of all,
the event raises money for all the city's animal shelters and rescues like

Tournament
Please join us Saturday, June 11th as AABR will hold
their fourth annual benefit golf tournament! This tournament is being held
to raise funds so that AABR can continue to help save the lives of homeless
boxers! AABR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer organization
dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, unwanted and sick boxers through
out the east coast.
Everyone is invited to participate in the golf
tournament! The tournament will be held at Briarwood Golf Course (East)
located at 4775 West Market Street, York, PA 17408. Registration begins at
11am and a shotgun start is planned for noon. The cost is $75 per player
and includes a light lunch, 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner, drinks and many
fabulous prizes!
We are also requesting help from local businesses. We
are asking for prize donations for the raffles. Donations can be anything
from a gift certificate from a local restaurant, pet store, salon, spa,
etc., to an item donated that can be used as a raffle prize during the golf
tournament.
Businesses can also sponsor a hole for $100 (one sign)
or choose to be a major sponsor for $500 (two signs and golf for a team of
four). The business name will be placed on a sign at a hole on the course
during play, letting everyone know that the business cares about the
community and has made a sizable donation.
If you would like to participate in the tournament,
make a donation, or sponsor a hole, please contact Bonnie Rohrbaugh by email
