Our baby, Oliver, died yesterday just 2 months shy of his 13th birthday.
He was diagnosed with mass cell cancer at the beginning of the summer and
underwent 8 chemo treatments. He handled the treatments well - he only
seemed to feel lousy for a day or so. But this weekend, he started
bleeding internally and both vets agreed it was time. He also went
totally deaf three weeks prior.
Oliver was originally found on the streets of Reading, PA. He was a
great dog and wonderful family member. We adopted both Madison and Oliver
from rescue 13 years ago. When they were dropped off at our house,
they ran through the house, up and over the furniture, and we weren't sure
what we where in for. Little did we know that it was one of the best
decisions we would make.
The house is quiet now. Madison lived to 10 yrs and Oliver almost 13
- and we loved it all.
