Harley is still doing great. He has made great strides since coming to stay with us.  He's really showing a true boxer personality now. He's even got the jelly bean dance down.

Harley is good with other dogs that would be considered sociable or easy going. The same with cats. A fenced yard is preferred. He is being crate trained during the day while I'm at work and at bed time.

Harley is very loyal and protective of our family. He can sometimes be a little intimidating to new guests but he always warms up after a few minutes.  Older children would be preferred. However he has been very good with our 10 year old son and even our 2 yr. old grandson. But he is a little over zealous with kisses when they're at his height.

Commands he knows are; sit, shake, lay down and his newest is speak. I am certain this boy is very intelligent because he picks up things so easily. He does need some work walking on a leash.

Harley is a very sweet, handsome young boy who really needs a family of his own.

08/05/04 -  Harley 2 Update

Harley is doing great.  He’s really come out of his shell.  He’s become much more playful and loves to lounge in the kiddie pool on hot days.

We’ve experienced no problems with chewing.  He is crated when we are at work.  He is sociable with most dogs and cats.  Bath time is not a problem and he enjoys being brushed.  He has come a long way with his water obsession and will leave water in his bowl.  He’s a great kisser and will put his head in my lap for a good ear rub.

Harley has a lot of potential and is very intelligent .  All he needs now is a permanent loving home.

Harley’s a 60 pound brindle beauty.  He’s been with us for weeks now and we’ve seen some great changes in him.  We have found he is wonderful with children of all ages.  He adores our nine-year old son and two-year old grandson and any child he sees he goes ape for.  He thinks our old cat Calvin is a new playmate and will even share food with him.  He gets along great with our older female.  They love to give chase and play tag in the yard.  However, he can get a little rough and does not know his own strength.

He knows basic commands and is eager to learn new ones.  He is a pleasure on a leash for walks.  We are working on his water obsession by giving him ice cubes and a little water at a time.  It seems to be working because he will now leave some water in his bowl at times.

He is very affectionate with female visitors but is initially apprehensive of male visitors and takes longer to warm up.

He has become much more affectionate and allows us to rub his ears, pet his head and enjoys a good back scratch.  Any family willing to give patience and love will be rewarded with a wonderful pet!

03/20/04 - Harley2

Harley is a 3yr old flashy brindle male. He is neutered and will be up to date on his shots as he is going to our vet tomorrow.

He is used to living with another male boxer and is the dominant dog. He is in foster with a sweet female and is dominant over her. He needs to be leashed at all times as he will bolt and needs a fence or must be on a lead. He needs to have his water monitored or he will drink continually. He is in foster with a 9yr old boy and I would say no kids under 9. He is a bit head shy but loves to be pet on his back. He was given up because the owner is building a new home and cannot afford 2 dogs and just doesn't want him. Please consider this sweet poor soul.

Pics will follow as soon as we can get them.
