Hi! It's me Max again. That is me in the pictures with the gray muzzle. Don't let that fool you though! I have lots of spirit. I can romp and play with my foster brother and sisters as if I were 4 years old again.

I just wanted to see if there is anyone out there willing to give me a chance in a forever home. I do love it here but I know I could really make someone happy. I have come a long way since I first arrived here at my foster home. My foster Mom loves me and she said it will be hard to let me go but she knows it would be best for me to have a home I can call my own. Would you be that home??

Hi! This is Max. I'm still here in my foster home waiting for someone to give me my forever home. I need a home where there is not too many people coming and going. In my past, people were not kind to me and I get scared when I first meet new people. I know all my foster Mom's friends and I know they won't hurt me and I'm fine with them. Once I know you are not going to hurt me I'll be your friend for life. I'm getting old and I know there is some one out there who will love me. My foster Mom can't bring anymore foster Boxers to the house while I'm still here because there are five of us already. I love all my foster brothers and sisters but know it would be best if I could find my forever home. When I find my forever home my foster Mom can get back to rescuing Boxers and I really want her to be able to save more Box heads like me. They deserve a chance to have a good life just like I do now! Please consider giving me a forever home, won't you?

Max has totally filled out and is loving life now!  He is actually a little chubby now but he deserves to be chubby and happy!

When Max was found he was a walking skeleton.  Max reminds me of the cowardly lion on the Wizard of Oz.  When he meets some men for the first time he is so scared of them.  He is such a chicken but within a couple of moments he is fine with everyone.  Max just wants to be loved but he needs to know he is not going to be hurt ever again.  Some human some where in his past was not kind to Max and he still has not forgotten.  He will act tough as if to say "don't you think you are going to hurt me", "do I scare you?".  As soon as he realizes he is OK he is your best buddy.   Max goes for long walks with this other Boxer buddies and is a perfect gentleman.  Our last walk was 8 miles and the old guy never missed a beat.  He never slowed down for a second.  He just looked ahead with his ears pricked and a smile on this face.  Max needs to find that special human who can appreciate all he has been through and all the has to offer.  His big brown eyes are full of life experiences and they just melt you.  If you are the special human that wants to share his golden years with him please fill out an application and tell Adopt A Boxer Rescue you are the best home for Max.   I will take new pictures of this handsome fellow this weekend.

Max is such a gentleman in the house.  He listens very well and is very well mannered.  This gentleman loves to go for walks, rides in the car,  and loves all the attention you can give him.  You would never know is he a senior Boxer the way he bounds around the fields except for his gray muzzle.  He is actually very distinguished looking with that muzzle.

Max is eating well and has gained the much needed pounds!  He melts you with those big brown eyes.  He just looks at you as if to ask "is this his forever home"?  It hurts me to tell him I am his foster Mom but I am still looking for that special human for him.

Max must have been a loyal and well behaved pet of someone's for many many years until he was out on the streets of New York City for some crazy reason that we will never know.  He is just a SWEETHEART that wants a human to love him and make him part of their family.

Max deserves a chance to be exactly what he has been all his life...a loyal and loving companion.  Are you that special human?  If you are please fill out an application and tell AABR you are the best home for Max and that you will give him all the love he deserves!!

We thought Max had found his forever home but the home had two Yorkies that were not fond of Max.  So within three days Max was sent back. The young boy of the family loved Max and Max adored him.  It was very obvious that Max had adopted the young teenager of the family.  Max could not take his big brown eyes off of him.  As the young boy walked away Max followed him to the end of his kennel, his eyes glued to him.  As the young boy turned the corner he barked and barked for him to come back but no one came around the corner again.  I don't think Max could believe he was being left again!

This poor guy has had a tough life.  He has cuts and scars on his sweet body - who knows what someone did to him.  He is just looking for a committed human to let him live out his last few years happy, healthy, with a great human and with a belly full of good food.  That's not too much to ask from a committed companion who would be your most loyal friend forever, is it?   This old guy is such a gentleman.  He walks beautifully on the leash and doesn't jump.  He is always looking back to make sure you are there and you are OK.  He is house broken and will bark if he needs to go outside.  Max is not the most beautiful boxer you have ever seen but look into those big brown eyes and you can see his heart is the most beautiful heart you will ever see.

Would some compassionate and committed human please give Max the chance he really deserves??  If you are that compassionate, committed, gentle person please fill out an application and tell AABR that YOU are the person for Max.   I guarantee you Max is the friend you have been looking for for so long!  He is right here at AABR waiting for YOU!

Max is just the best . He is in need of a foster home. His second foster home is not working out and its not his fault. The first one worked long hrs. and he did not like it. The 2nd one has a little dog and he loves him but every time he goes to play with the little dog the female boxer goes and attacks him. He is such a good, happy soul. He is great with the other dogs but they don't like him. Please, if you have the time please foster Max. He deserves a home at this age.

Here's an update on the world's sweetest dog.  He is just the best.  He sits and shakes, waits patiently for his leash, and walks on it like a champ.

I had to give him a bath... and boy did he enjoy himself.  He tried to jump up on the grooming table, then over into the tub.  Sat and gave kisses thru the whole procedure.  I left him in the shop while I made a place for him to stay, and when I came back in, he had knocked over the clean towels, and made himself a little bed.

He is gentle and sweet, he deserves only the most loving home cause he needs plenty of hugs and kisses for the rest of his life.
