Ollie's foster home could no longer keep him. He
is now at the small local no kill shelter that we work with. This way people
will get to see him when they are willing to adopt the cutest mix breed.
02/04/05 -Just
a quick update on Ollie. He continues to do well with me. He is
such a good dog, It is almost like he is grateful to be at my house.
He does not seem to have a problem being in his room during the day. He has
his toys and his bed with lots of room to stretch out and relax. He shows no
signs of separation anxiety.
He is completely housebroken and has not had one accident in the house
since he has been with me. He is very obedient and will sit, lay down
and give his paw, we are working on rolling over and he has even gotten much
better with jumping up. He pulls a little on a leash when given too much
slack, so I brought him back closer
to me and he walked by my side at my pace and did not pull at all.
I have only heard him bark once since he has been at the house and that
was when he saw his own shadow in the window.( that was pretty funny )
He plays to rough with our 12 and 13 year old daughters so I would
recommend an adult home for Ollie.
His favorite pastimes are playing in the snow, fetch, tug and chewing his
big bones when he gets tired. He is a big sweetheart of a dog that
needs some playtime and lots of room to run and burn all of that energy he
has. He will have nothing but kisses and a lot of love to give in return.

Ollie - NEEDS A FOSTER HOME IMMEDIATELY
A note from Ollie:
"Hi, my name is
Ollie. I know I'm not all Boxer but I have all the best qualities of the
Boxer and the Lab. I am 11 months old and I have been through a lot in my
short puppy life. I was adopted from a shelter as a real young pup then
returned when I was 11 months old to the same shelter. The shelter staff
were so sad to see me returned and they knew my fate. Soo... they called
Adopt A Boxer Rescue. I was doomed from the moment they dumped me at the
shelter because it was so full. I am super exuberant and would love a home
with an active human who is willing to help me expend all my energy. I love
to run and play with anyone willing to have fun. My foster Mom wants to
tell you something about me too so here she is."
Ollie is a real sweetheart that needs a
home willing to teach him manners and give him lots of exercise. He was
hours away from being put to sleep. He deserves a family who will never
dump him again. Ollie was returned because the family said they did not
have time for him and he had too much energy for their 6 year old twins.
We will place Ollie in a home with
children over 12 because he is a big pup. He deserves a loving home.
If you are a committed forever home tell
AABR you are the best home for him! A home with large dog experience is a
must. You will love this big lovebug
