4/26/05 It is sad to say that Tate is back at a
boarding kennel. The foster family's dog did not like him so he had to be
moved again. Tate just wants to be cuddled, loved and fed good meals. He
just needs to know he is in a home that will not give up on him. He is not a
big fan of the crate. He is housebroken and is a good boy. We have no history on
Tate with children so he will only be placed in a home with children over 10
years old. Don't let his small size fool you he is a strong little man who
loves to go for long walks and run and play like other energetic boxer boy!
If you have tons of love to give this little fellow he will give tons more
back to you. Please tell AABR you can give him the home he deserves. Let
us show Tate that all humans don't dump their faithful companions when they
feel like it!
Before returning him to the kennel (not because of anything Tate has done)
his foster home wrote:
Tate is doing well in foster care, he is eating his food with gusto, and
is visibly putting on weight. Before I put down his food bowl, I ask him to
sit, and he sits and waits nicely until I tell him that it is "ok" to chow
down! He has no food aggression, I can remove his bowl while he is eating
with no problem.
Tate is really enjoying his daily walks. for a dog who was probably never
on a leash before, his leash manners are very good! He has also discovered
tuggy toys (he likes the ropey ones) and loves to play tug with you. He can
tug hard, but as soon as you drop the toy, he drops it also!
There were some visitors here over the weekend, and Tate was just in
heaven going from lap to lap, soaking up all the attention! Won't you be the
one to provide this little love sponge with a hand to pet him?
4/16/05 -
Tate
Meet Tate, an absolutely adorable boxer boy.
He has the cutest mush face and most soulful brown eyes ever. It is hard
to believe, but poor Tate hasn't received much love in his life. He is
very underweight, and shows signs of living outdoors. However, he was
taught to "sit", and will do so quite nicely, especially for a little
treat. He is also neutered, and up to date on his shots.
Tate just wants to be loved; he is ever so gentle, and will
kindly ask you to pet him by coming up to you and putting his head in
your arms. I was told he was head-shy, but he hasn't shown that to me,
and I believe he just needs a good dose of kindness to get over any
shyness.
He only shows mild interest to other dogs, and is unknown with cats or
children. Tate needs a family or someone who can show him that a boxer
deserves all the love in the world, and that no one will ever hurt him
again. Won't you open your heart and home to this sweet boy?
