Baby
When Baby was rescued, it was obvious she’d
recently whelped a litter of pups before being dropped off at the
overcrowded shelter. She was running out of time there, and what Baby’s
“guardian angel” found broke her heart…..a sad, scared, timid little soul
who had just lost her family and her babies, amidst all the noise and
commotion that goes on in a shelter.
Baby has been spayed, but was found to be HW
positive. Thankfully, she has spent the last few months safe in a wonderful
foster home while undergoing heart worm treatment. She is HW negative now
and on preventative. She has had a full blood chemistry panel, including
thyroid panel, and has normal values. She is now healthy and ready for her
forever home.
Because Baby had such a hard start at life,
she will need additional time and help to heal emotionally. She is timid
and slow to trust. She appears to be more afraid of men than women. She
likes children and gets along with the dogs and cats she has come in contact
with over the past few months; she loves playing with the male Boxer in her
foster home.
Baby walks very well on a leash, she is
house broken and she will now go potty when taken out on a lead. She is a
good eater and has even started to take treats. She will give little
butterfly kisses through the crate to the young girl in the home. Baby will
need a quiet home where ideally someone is home most of the time. She will
need a tremendous amount of love and encouragement. We think a home with an
easy-going, mature, male Boxer would be instrumental in helping her gain her
confidence. A securely fenced yard, where she will feel safe and protected
from the world, will be very important as well.
Baby has come too far and overcome too many
obstacles to be passed over now. We know her special family is out there,
one who will love and cherish her for the precious girl she is. She is
patiently waiting for you; please don’t make her wait too long.
