10/20/05 - Chaplin is now in
Foster
Chaplin has been a
pleasant surprise, Doesn't look anything like
his pictures. He has been nothing but a gentleman. Can't understand how
anyone could have wanted to put him down. From day one he has gotten along
with our two boxers. ( Not one problem) In the three weeks he's been
here he's spent maybe an hour in his crate, and that was the first day. All
he wants is someone to sit around with. If someone is looking for a friend
that's not going to require much work. This is the guy for them. My wife
just loves him. She said he can stay as long as it takes to get him he's
forever home. Sometime younger isn't always better, This is one of those
times!

Chaplain is still at the kennel and it just breaks our hearts.
He is such a beautiful, well behaved
boy. He may be an older boy, but that just
makes him better! We had him at home with us on Sunday and he
behaved like the gentleman he is.
We gave him a bath which he stood perfectly still for, then we introduced
him to our male and there was nothing but a
bunch of sniffing and 'nub' wagging! He didn't bother a thing
in the house and did his potty
business outside just like a gentleman should.
We'll post new pictures soon -
his current pictures do not do him justice - he is a
large, beautiful brindle boy. He is very stressed out at the
kennel. He sees owners come every day to get their dogs, but no owner
comes for him. PLEASE open your hearts
to help this boy - he deserves better than to be
lonely and sad living in a crate with no human companionship.

Chaplin is still at the kennel. At the vet, we discovered that he has
partial hearing loss and partial sight loss in his left eye. He also
has a limp which the vet thinks is due to arthritis.
He clearly was never loved or petted or kissed. He does not
even know how to respond to these things. Can you imagine how much
pain he felt when his eye was hurting and no one took him to the vet or what
kind of terrible ear infection he must have had and the pain he had to have
been in to lose part of his hearing? But no one helped him. Now
he is in a kennel just wondering what he did to deserve this.
I just can't believe he is as sweet as he is after being neglected
so badly. The girls at the kennel love him and say he is a very good
boy. He never has accidents in his cage - he always holds it till he
is outside. He loves going for walks, but does pull so its evident
that no one even took the time to walk him. He likes other dogs and
loves his treats. He weighs around 80 pounds and is a big boy!
He has not shown any aggression toward people or other dogs.
PLEASE help this boy. He may not be a purebred boxer, but he
is a handsome boy and would love someone to spend some time teaching him
what its like to be cared for and loved for the first time in his life.
We need someone to step forward and give this guy a chance.....is that you?

Chaplin
Chaplin's story is so sad. He was a stray at a
shelter in PA and two of our wonderful
volunteers saved him a day before he was to be euthanized.
He is a boxer mix, and is a beautiful brindle color and is probably
around 6 years old. We'll know more when we get him
to our vet. He is a big boy (83 pounds) and needs to gain some
weight!
He is gentle and walks fairly well on lead - he could use a little
work, but hey, who couldn't? He
does not seem to know a lot of commands, but that will come quickly as soon
as someone takes the time to work with him.
He does seem to have some kittie issues, so a home with no kitties
is best. The kennel where he is
currently being boarded will test him with
other dogs, but he seems fine with them. He's an easy
going guy who just wants to lay on a
cool floor and have someone show him some love and
affection. That's not asking too much, is it?
