10/01/05 Got busy and
forgot to update you on Della. She continues to be the sweetest. She now
bounces with glee to see me and those great boxer wiggles where she turns
herself in to a "C". She has put on a couple of much needed lbs. She really
is a beautiful boxer. I have been told by people who show dogs that she has
a beautiful walk or gait or whatever show dogs are suppose to have. She does
turn heads, I had her and Sadie out for a walk and a couple of cars stopped
to say how pretty she was, not a word about my Sadie who is also very
pretty. She gives the sweetest butterfly kisses, a little flutter of her
tongue.
She will make a great addition to a family. She is just
wonderful with my Sadie, they play all the time, it would be great if she
had another dog to play with. I can only tell you she is a love

Della is the sweetest little girl you
could ever meet. She and Sadie (adopted from Jamie and Dawn) get along
great, when I take them for walks on a double collar lead Della has a
prance to her walk and certainly has more energy than Sadie, Della ends up
pulling her along, good exercise for Sadie. Della has learned to sit
since I picked her up on Friday. She is very very bright. We will
certainly miss her when she finds her permanent home. NO ONE with a
heart could not love her.

Here are some more pics I got of Della this morning. I
brought her in my grooming shop for a bath, which she liked.
Then she played hostess meeting and greeting everyone who
came in. She just stood along side of me while I worked and if my hand
went down, she would put her little face in it. My heart was melting.
This has got to be one of the best behaved and most loving dog ever.

Della is putting on weight already. She has a wonderful
appetite and a great personality. Tomorrow she goes to the vet for a 2
day stay to start her heartworm treatment.
Whoever gets this little girl is going to have a very
special angel in their life.

Della arrived last night courtesy of
Ann. She was in love with her when she got here. I have to tell you this
is one of the sweetest little girls I've met in a very long time. She's
thin, and her poor little body is scarred from who knows what, but those
eyes are the softest, gentlest I've ever seen.
We bedded her down in the kennel,
with a bowl of food and water. She passed her temperament test with flying
colors. She just looked up as if to say, "thank you." This morning it was
the same. She gave me kisses for her food, and I let her start to eat then
moved her dish and pet her. She just picked up her head, no problem. If
I had been starved, I would have taken that hand off, but not Darling
Della. She's a true gem. What a lucky family to get this little doll.
(Note: AABR volunteer Gail is a experienced dog handler. Only
experienced animal handlers should temperament test an animal.)

Della
Hi I am a female boxer around 5yrs
of age. I am super sweet and friendly. I have been used by humans for
years. I just had my last litter and now they don't need me. I was tossed
out on the streets like garbage.
Is there anyone with a heart that
can take me in? I am good around other dogs. I do have heartworms which
rescue is going to pay to treat. Please help me, I am in dire need of
getting into a home so I can live out my life with love and happiness. I
will love you forever no matter what.
