Hi everyone -- it's me Phineas.  I am still here with my foster family.  I love them and they love me, it will be very difficult to leave them when I find a forever home.

My foster Mom got a few new pictures of me but I love to run and play so much, Mom said I make it hard to get a good picture.

Sometimes when Mom gives us a special treat, Sophia (the resident female boxer) finishes up hers very quick and then she pushes me over and eats from my dish too.  I just move over and let her share my dish.  Mom said I am a really wonderful boy when I am so kind!  So how come no one wants me?  Sometimes I think my foster home is my home -- I wonder?

would like a securely fenced yard to run and play in and a nice family to love me and help me understand what I should do.  Someone who knows what it is like to have an adolescent boy like me.  I'll be here waiting.

Phinnie is one of the sweetest most endearing dogs on God's green earth!  He is a big love bug.  He is always ready for a tummy rub or a nice game of fetch!  He would adore a fenced yard where he could run his laps (as he so loves to do) and use up all that wonderful puppy energy.

Phinnie likes to lay upside down with a tennis ball in his mouth while Sophia, our resident boxer, tilts her head sideway and tries to remove it.  It is quite a site!  Phinnie also likes to run after Sophia playing a game of "grab your hind leg" until Sophia has had enough.  That's when Phinnie throws himself upside down in total submission to beg for mercy!  After Sophia playfully nibbles on his neck a while, she walks away and Phinnie starts the game over again.

What a wonderful addition to the right family!  Give this guy a chance, he will bring you love and joy and steal your heart!

Here is an update on Phinnie.  He is a very strong very solid boy.  An "in your face" kind of guy with a happy go lucky attitude.  I don't think he would do well with cats.  He is perfect as far as house broken goes.  He is crate trained and has no food issues.

Phinnie would do well in an active home with someone would take him for long walks or for a jog or a run.  He still needs some training because he does pull on the leash.  He does like to run laps around the yard and if you're willing to go out and play with him WOW now that's real dog fun!

Phinnie readily gives kisses and is more than willing to turn upside down for a belly rub.  His favorite time is after diner and after he has gone out to take care of business, he likes to take a favorite toy in his mouth, roll over and lay upside down.  He gets a look of contentment in his eyes as he dozes off never dropping the toy.  I know he is thinking "this is great-- a full belly, a warm soft place to relax, a favorite toy--life is good!"

We need someone very special for this love baby.

Phinnie is doing just fine.  He has worked his way into sleeping with us at night.  How long can one resist those pleading eyes?  He quickly settles down cuddling up to us for a good night's sleep.

Phinnie has lots of energy and loves to play and run in the yard, sometimes running laps around and around and...  He asks to go out to do his business and has never had an accident.

He goes quickly into his crate with the encouragement of a dog biscuit and knows that is his place when no one is at home.

Phinnie is an affectionate love baby with not a mean bone is his body.  Even when Sophia, our resident girl, lets him know she has had enough, he shows no sign of aggression.

Phineas is a solid, noble looking young fellow with a loving personality.  Are you the one lucky enough to share your life with this boy?

Phineas is doing well and has made himself right at home.  He is eating well and has put on some weight -- weighing in now at 64 pounds, which the vet said is perfect for him.  He likes to run around in the yard with Sophia, the resident boxer, until they are out of energy.  We have taught him to sit, and he readily does so for food.  Although we have worked on it, he still pulls hard on the leash.  He is a very strong boy and has a lot of puppy energy.  He is a very loving boy and readily gives kisses, wags and wiggles.  He loves to cuddle up to you for a nap.  He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night, although I know he wouldn't mind sleeping in bed with his people.  (hint hint)  And he is totally house broken!!  What a great dog!

It is hard to get good pictures of him because when he sees the camera he thinks it is time to play and he gets very silly.  You can see from the pictures how Phineas and Sophia like to cuddle.  Phinnie also likes to sleep upside down!   This is one wonderful boy.  Whoever is lucky enough to get him will have a life time of boxer love!

Phineas is such a lucky boy!  A great foster Mom (Thanks Christine T!!) drove for 2 hours to come to PA and take Phineas to her home so that he will be able to relax and soak up all the lovin' he can.  While we waited for the foster Mom he gave tons of wiggles and kisses.

Phineas has an extra bonus..his natural tail!  He just could not wag it fast enough.  He loved all the attention.  It was almost as if he knew he was going to his foster home. He likes other dogs and loves humans.  If you would  like to be the one to get and give tons of lovin' Phineas is the one for you.  His page will be updated as soon as the foster Mon learns more about him.

8/17/05 - Phineas

Meet Phineas!  He is 2 years old and is very sweet.  We were told he likes other dogs and loves all the people he has met.  He was surrendered to a shelter because his owners moved into an apartment that does not allow dogs.  Why they would pick a place to live where ALL the family members are not welcome is beyond me.  Lucky my parents did not pick a place where they don't allow little girls!  I'd be out on the street too!

Well, to get back to Phineas!  He is a well behaved big boy!  He will be neutered shortly and is up to date on all his shots!  He will be ready for his foster or forever home after 8/25/05.  Please help us get him out of the kennel and into a home!  If you can't foster PLEASE make a donation to help pay for his board.  AABR needs your financial help!  We always do but WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER!
