Avery has been with us for about a week and is doing great. I must say
that I enjoy her company. She is one of the most affectionate and
loving dogs that we have ever fostered. She rolls onto her belly for
tickles, sleeps under the covers, and curls in your lap for some
naptime lovin'. She is not food aggressive. She is great in the
tub. Avery does not mind her paws wiped, ear, tail, or cheeks rubbed.
She is not hand shy. She loves going for walks and would make a great
jogging partner. She is crate trained and housebroken. She knows
how to sit, come, and give paw. We are working on stay.
Avery needs a forever home that knows boxers. She needs to be
gently socialized with other dogs. At the park she does bark and growl
at other dogs. Avery may not be a dog park kind of girl. We have an almost 6
year old dominant female who is at times dog aggressive, I anticipated
a lengthy introductory period when Avery arrived. However, the
introductory mania only lasted about an hour and things are quiet.
At this time I feel that Avery should go to a home with older or no
children. She has been through a lot in a short period and deserves
the attention. We are going to the trainer this week. I
will keep you posted on this lovely lady. P.S. she is even cuter
in person.
10/29/05 - Avery
Avery is a 9 month old female boxer that is spayed and up to date on shots.
Avery needs a home with a boxer savvy
owner or an owner with large dog experience. Avery has been bounced from one
home to another. She is going into foster
with another female and we will update the site with more info from that
home asap.
