01/19/06 -
My love story began in October when I first met
this wonderful pair of boxer dogs. Their owner was
having financial difficulty and could no longer keep her beloved dogs.
She tried to do everything she could to keep Jayda and
Relic but in the best interest of the dogs she surrender the dogs to Adopt a
Boxer Rescue in early December. It was a very hard
afternoon for both the owner and I. I could see how hard
it was for her to give up such a wonderful pair of dogs.
As we drove away Jayda sat in the back of my van and Relic stood on my
center console and gave me kisses as I drove. I took
them back to my house to run around and play for a few hours because I was
enjoying their company and wanted to spend a little more time playing with
them. Jayda is a little shy at first but warms up
quickly; she loves to cuddle and is a sweet, gentle boxer girl.
Relic is a character, he is full of personality.
I would have loved to keep them myself but my husband said I could not fit
another boxer dog in the bed. (I already have two bed
hogs).
After hanging out at my house I took the
pair over to their foster home, they love riding in the car.
Jayda is the co-pilot and Relic is a back seat driver who keeps a
close eye on the road. As I was driving Relic would
sneak kisses and tried to convince Jayda to give him the front seat.
Their foster home loves the dogs, they are smart and can escape from
their crates but they just like to pull the blankets off the couch and make
a soft bed on the floor to take a nap together. They are
getting along well with their foster bother and sister, two small dogs named
Bowser and Bella. When the dogs came in I needed to take
them to the vet to update their shots and the people working at the vet's
fell in love with the pair as well. They kissed the vet
and wiggled for anyone who would pet them. Relic is a
big goof who is always looking for someone to play with him and pay
attention to him. He is always happy to see you and
wants to give you the biggest kisses. Jayda allows Relic
to be in the spot light but sneaks up and sits in your lap to snuggle.
I am still hopeful to find a home together for this dynamic duo, a
family would be very lucky to have this wonder pair in their home.
I am very attached to this pair of dogs and would like
to have a happy ending for them. I hope this love story
has a happy ending. If you think you are the home for
Jayda and Relic please apply and let Adopt a Boxer know why you would be the
best home for this loving pair of dogs.

10/29/05 - Relic & Jayda
Jayda and Relic are two adorable, happy, dogs. Jayda is a white 4 year old female boxer who loves to chill out and cuddle. She is very sensitive and she loves her brother Relic very much, they have been together since Jayda was 8 months old. Relic is a 3 year old male fawn boxer who is a ball of energy. He is interested in what you are doing and loves attention. This handsome pair lived with cats and other small animals. They never lived with young children but they are very kind and filled with kisses and wiggles for everyone. Jayda and Relic do play with other dogs and with the proper introduction would get along well with new friends.
The owner sadly can not keep the dogs any longer due to some extenuating circumstances. She has all paper work and vet records on the dogs and will pass them to the new owners so they can continue caring for the dogs. After meeting the pair I would love to take them home but my house is already filled with a pair of boxer dogs. The owner would like to place the dogs together but for the best home we will consider splitting up the pair. I can not say enough good things about these two dogs, I feel in love with them as soon as I met them. The owner will be keeping the dogs until the second week of November, at that time we will need to find a foster or forever placement.
