12/01/10 - MEMORIAL
Romeo at age 10, entered our lives on 11/20/05,
and left us on 11/2/10.
We lost another great friend today in Romeo. He was my first
rescue, but as it turns out - he rescued me. Romeo was given the
daunting task of mending a broken heart left by our Caesar. He bounded
into my life with such joy, which makes this loss so crushing. I can
honestly say that Romeo made me laugh out loud every day. He was also
the smartest and most humanlike of my dogs. What a character! He
had cancer for two years, but it just showed it's ravages these last two
weeks and he really missed our good girl, Gucci. Like Gucci, he too
passed away at home with Frankie and I by his side. What more could we
ask for? Thank you Romeo for rescuing us!

Just an update about the gentle giant. He
started his h/w treatment and was away from the house for 2 days. I picked
him up last night from the vets'. He could not wait to get out of there, he
ran over to my car and could not wait to get in. Once in, he
proceeded to kiss what ever part of me he could reach, hair , clothes ,
face, hands, as if to say I am so glad you came back for me. We got to the
house, he was so excited to get out of the car, he made a bee line to the
front door and sat down to wait for me to open the door. It amazes me how
much these dogs remember.
Romeo has been with me less than 2 weeks, but
he knows a good home. I had been having a hard time getting him to go in the
crate, but today it was a breeze. As I have said before, a rescue just wants
to please. These dogs have gone thru some awful times and are so grateful
for food, water, a dry place to sleep, and some human contact. I guess Romeo
thought the crate wasn't so bad.

I have had Romeo since Friday. He is a gentle
giant, he likes nothing better than laying his head in your lap and taking
a snooze. He likes being with people. He is also very good with Sadie, she
can walk right under him. He needs a little training and to put on some
weight as his ribs and backbones stick out, he weights 65 lbs. He has the
cutest face with his pink tongue always sticking out. I brought him home
late Friday afternoon and taught him to sit that night. He is very bright
but does not know what is expected of him in a home environment, chances
are he has never been kept in a house but with time and patience he will
learn
10/29/05 - Romeo
Romeo is a 4-5 yr old light brindle male boxer that is neutered and up to
date on shots. He is Heartworm positive
and we will begin his treatment this week. He will be good as new in no
time. This is a very common condition down south and should not deter anyone
from adopting this lovebug.
Romeo is the sweetest dog you could ever imagine. He is good with other dogs
and loves to be hugged. He is in foster with one of our adopted rescues.
Please consider opening your home to this wonderful boxer.
