Clarabella is doing wonderfully! She is steadily gaining weight and
loving life! She is a complete and total sweetheart. She loves her
foster brothers and sisters and just wants to play all of the time. She
wiggles every bone when she sees the children coming to pet her. She is
housebroken and loves to go for short walks. We are not letting her get
too much exercise as we need her to gain weight. The cuts and sores on
her legs and hips have healed beautifully and she has been given a clean
bill of health from the vet. We just need to continue to put weight on
her. As soon as she reaches a normal weight she will be spayed.
Clarabella is looking for a home that will treat her with the most gentle
hand. She is the perfect example of unconditional love! What a difference
a few weeks makes when there is plenty of love and food!!

The story of Claribella is heart wrenching. She was found as a stray
with tags. The owners were called to pick her up at the shelter. They
never returned the call! It is with the utmost sadness that I say I have
never seen a dog so thin.
She is about 1.5 years old and weighs 18.5 pounds! Yes! Almost a full
grown Boxer! Upon arrival at the hospital the vets said they have never
seen a dog this thin still alive! Claribella has the will to live though.
She looks at you and gives you a full Boxer wiggle. Every bone in her sweet
body wiggles.
She was hospitalized for 3 days and is now in my care with the vets
assistance. She eats 4-5 times a day very small meals. Her body is still
getting used to food so she must be taken outside about every 2 hours. She
is such a love. All she wants to do is snuggle. (It is hard to pet and
cuddle bones but I will for Claribella. She already knows love).
AABR will do whatever it takes to give her a chance at a new life with
people who will be gentle, kind and compassionate. In time, she will be
ready to go to her forever home but for now she will recuperate and get to
know people who love her.
If you are willing to help this sweetheart please make a donation to help
cover her vet expenses. It is going to be a long road but a very worthwhile
road. It is dogs like this that need you and I the most. Please help us
make a difference one Boxer at a time, one life at a time. Right now, it is
Claribella that needs us the most!
