Macey is doing very well. She is gaining weight and getting cuter with each
day that passes. She is making good progress in both house training and
crate training. She is getting better about coming when you call her, and
is responding more and more to human voices. She has discovered what toys
are!
She took her first car ride today (since the ride to our house from the
kennel) and did great. She is so affectionate and wants to be touching you
at all times (she is sleeping in my lap as I am typing this). She is a
sweet little thing!
We'll keep you posted.

Macey
is such a doll. She takes the word "loyal" to a whole new level. She wants
to be with you at all times (she tried to climb into the shower with me
yesterday) and is the biggest lovebug I've met. I crated her for about 40
minutes yesterday as a trial run and took Mackey out of the house with me to
see how she would do. She went into the crate without any problems, laid
down, and was laying down when I got back. From everything I could see she
tolerated it wonderfully. She's learning how to tell Chris and me if she
needs to go out and really seems to be picking up on things well.
We're trying to teach her how to play but I don't think she's been
exposed to toys before. She watches Mackey play, but only seems interested
in chewing on a bone. She's learning how to walk on a leash, and within the
first day of being here didn't mind when I would put the collar on to take
her outside (you just have to move very slow and approach her under her head
rather than over).
Her playful side is coming out and she still has the adorable "puppy
romp" when she runs. She let me put her in the shower again yesterday (I'm
trying to get rid of the flaking skin all over her body. Her skin looks a
lot better already and new hair looks like its growing in.) and was very
good. I took out her sutures from her surgery and cleaned her ears and she
tolerated everything like a champ. My parents came over last night to drop
off a crate for her and she warmed up to them within 30 minutes. She loves
to be wrapped in a blanket and sleep in your lap. I've caught her and Mack
snuggling a few times but they move as soon as I go to get the camera
I forgot to add - she is very good riding in the car. She laid down and
slept the whole way home from the kennel.

Macey was rescued from a puppymill by a person that saw a beautiful
Boxer about to be euthanized by an Amish farmer because she "was not a
good mother". She was not making him enough money.
The woman contacted AABR and asked that we take her into our care. Since
then, Macey has been spayed, had a wellness exam and has received all the
shots and vet care needed. Macey is ready for her forever home! She seems
to like other dogs and all humans. She paid no attention to cats in her
first home before rescue. She is a little shy at first but warms up
quickly.
A loving and gentle home with tons of love to give is what she is looking
for! If you are looking for a life long fur companion please give Macey
the home she deserves.
