03/16/06 - We
think Bianca is truly enjoying being our foster "child".
Watching this beautiful girl come out of her shell is so rewarding.
She just wiggles and wiggles when we come home. How wonderful to see
her change from a scared little girl into this wonderful, affectionate
princess! She looks at us with those big brown eyes and I just
know she's saying "thank you". Once she gets to know you, she loves
affection and wants to be cuddled and petted and talked to and to follow you
all over the house! She loves playing with us and her foster brother
(7). They have this game they play - they race from one end of the
house to the other with a toy and they are so fast that they look like a
blur when they go by - also sounds like a freight train as her foster
brother weighs 80 pounds!. Then she sacks out where she can see me.
She is truly enjoying life for the first time.
She has been left alone in the kitchen and guest
bedroom for up to 6 hours now and has not touched a thing other than her
toys. She is also getting to meet many new people. At first she
was not too sure about that, but she is getting much better with it and will
actually go up to them now for a friendly "hello". They just need to
know that she is most comfortable with them letting her go up to them and if
they just ignore her for a bit, then give her a loving scratch her under the
chin, and of course, a treat...:) she does just fine with them. She
just likes for new people to let her do the introducing. Its not her
fault that she was not socialized early in life and we are now doing our
best to help her learn what its all about - she is willing - she just needs
someone who understands dogs and will give her a chance!
She performs a command so fast that its just amazing.
If we say "sit", her little butt hits the floor so fast. She
understands sit, stay, down, no, come, lay down, roll over and crate.
Folks, this is one smart girl. We've had many boxers, but she is by
far the fastest learner. She learned stay, lay down and roll over in
no time at all. She also just loves chasing tennis balls in the fenced
in yard - she is faster than her foster brother and loves to out run him to
get the ball! The only problem we have is our older boxer girl
(12 yrs old and the queen of the house) does not like other dogs and has
gone after Bianca several times.
We keep them separated for her safety. We'd love to
find her a quiet home with someone who has had boxers before. If there is
another dog for her to play with, that would be great too! Bianca is a
smart, beautiful and affectionate girl!

Bianca continues
to amaze us with her wonderful personality. What a sweetheart she is! She
loves her belly rubs and toys. She follows us through the house and loves to
investigate, but does not touch a thing that is not hers. She is proof that
given a little love and attention, that boxer personality will come out! Its
obvious that she did not get the attention she deserved in her previous
home. We are working with her on meeting new people and with proper
instruction to them, she is doing much better. She is excited and wants to
meet them, but at the same time a little scared. They just need to give her
a chance to adjust to them.
Bianca is so smart that once she settles into her permanent home, she
should do just fine! She's only been with us for a little over 2 weeks and
is doing great! She is also a very good watch dog, which I like as I'm
frequently home alone. She and her boxer brother have a barking contest to
let me know when someone is at the door!
She loves to play with her boxer brother and as you can see from the new
pix, she likes to relax afterward! She goes to the door and sits when she
needs to go out in our fenced in yard. She will come back to the door and sit to wait for you to
let her in. She is non-destructive when left alone.
Bianca is very quiet when in her crate. I just cannot say enough
wonderful things about this girl. My husband has said that we'd adopt her in
a heartbeat if we did not have an older female that does not do well with
other dogs.
Since she settled in with us, she has been the perfect dog. She has
learned not to jump up on us, but rather to sit when she wants attention.
She responds well to praise and treats. Please consider giving this
little girl a chance to make you a happy boxer parent!
2/18/06 -
Bianca Noel is an adorable 3 year
old fawn female who is on the smaller side. She was given up by her
owner due to a divorce. She was used to being crated all day and
lived with 3 children (all under 10) and a Yorkie.
Bianca is very timid around
strangers initially due to not being properly socialized as a puppy.
With some work we are confident she will overcome this. Within 2 days
in our house she was transformed from a frightened little girl to an
absolute doll baby. She was in my lap, giving me kisses and hugs!
I was just amazed at how fast this transformation happened. She is
just a confused little girl who does not understand why the people she loved
gave her up and the home she knew her entire life is gone.
She is very smart and cannot perform a command fast enough for me! She
knows sit, lay, down, roll over (she just loves belly rubs) and no.
She was headed up the stairs and I said "no" and she did the quickest "U"
turn and came right back down. She does not mind having her ears or
feet messed with. She has not shown any food aggression. She
loves her squeaky toys and fetches with the best of them.
This little gem just needs a guardian angel who understands what its like to
be afraid and who will give her a few days to settle in. After that,
she's just wonderful! She is totally housetrained and crate trained.
When I point and say "crate" she goes right in....of course I always give
her a treat after she does this...:). We're very slowly
introducing her to our dogs and so far so good! She and our male, who
is on the submissive side, just did the "sniffy" butt thing and were
fine with each other. We do not know how she is around cats, but we
know that she did not chase squirrels, rabbits, or other dogs when she was
loose in our fenced in yard and saw them. If you can find it in your heart to
show some patience, love and guidance, then Bianca just might be the girl
for you! Please - won't someone give her a chance?
