03/30/06 - I had
a really fun time at the Rescue Adoptathon in Kingston today. I was still
full of energy when I got home. Boy do I have a good time here playing with
everyone. I love other dogs and would love a home where there is someone to
chase around a big fenced yard. Hurry and fill out that application cause I
am super cute and ready for a family who is up to my puppy antics.
03/15/06
Sugar went for a trip to Boiling Springs and saw ducks and geese
presumably for the first time. She had a great time.
Sugar is doing very well with her house training and goes in her crate
when told. She loves to run around the yard like the wind. We are still
working on her indoor manners and leash walking and she is starting to get
the idea.
3/4/06
Sugar is progressing nicely on her housetraining. We have consistent success
on our trips outside. She is also walking very nicely on her harness most of
the time. Sugar definitely knows what she wants and puts her feet down (or
up) to get it. For a puppy she is very good. Sugar will be the most
loving lap dog. She wants nothing more than to hop up on the couch with you
and snuggle and be petted. We are showing her which couch is for doggies and
which couch is humans only, but she really just wants to be where you are.
Sugar is just as sweet as her name indicates and is very easy to love
with her oh so soft ears! She's just waiting for you to come and give her
lots and lots of kisses.
2/28/06 - Sugar
Sugar was surrendered by her family as they had too many dogs to care for.
She is up to date on her vaccines and has just been spayed and is
recovering nicely. We are beginning to housebreak her as we don't know if
her accidents are from the surgery, stress or all of the above. She is
responding well to her crate and we will continue to show her where it is
appropriate to go.
Sugar has lots of energy, just like a puppy should. Walking on a leash
was an invitation to run and play, switching to a harness has reduced the
pulling dramatically...until she saw the neighbors dog. Then she wanted to
go say hello, but I pulled her away. She has met the female boxer we are
fostering and our male boxer and have had no problems. Sugar likes to lay in
the crate with Lidia, the other female boxer and snuggle. She loves
attention and will just love all over you. Sugar has also seen our cats from
behind a baby gate and will get close up as the days progress. I did not see
any aggression towards them so we will update with more as she begins to
settle in.
Sugar is a Boxer mix and may be a little larger than my female boxer and
smaller than my male, but at only 6 months she is still growing. If you want
a lap dog who wants lots of pets and kisses she will be your sweetheart.
