Anna was given up by her owner
to a local shelter before she was rescued by a kind AABR volunteer and
brought to Gail's kennel to await veterinary care.
We picked up Anna from Gail's kennel in Pa on Sunday after
seeing her there last weekend. She was supposed to get spayed but the
veterinarian wanted to wait since it appeared she was either beginning or
ending her cycle. So she will stay here until she can be spayed. Anna is 2
years old and has energy to run around the yard, but will hop up on the
couch next to me and take a nap.
Anna is very smart and is intrigued by many of our movements around the
house. The cats get too much of her attention, so she will
need to go to a no-cat home.
Since the moment I picked her up she has been well behaved. She has had no accidents and tells us by whimpering
right to us she needs to go out and already knows the door.
Anna also received a bath on her arrival. She wasn't so sure she wanted
one, but all things considered I
was pleasantly surprised at her willingness.
Anna and my male boxer had a 'few words' when they met and she let him
know how she wanted to be treated. She lets him know when the play is too
much for her. This little girl was definitely an indoor dog who is used to
sleeping on the bed and the couch. She has to sleep in her crate at night
and she definitely is not crate trained and whined while she was in there,
until we reassured her. Then she slept all night. If you want a smart loving girl to curl up with you, Anna is
the one.
As more of Anna's personality comes out we will update on her behaviors.
