Jack has been in our care for 4 weeks now.  He still takes some time to get use to strangers, but once he does, he is the biggest love!  He has the boxer wiggle down pat and jumps up off the ground when he is exited!

Jack has spent some time with my nieces and nephews.  He did well with them and warmed up more quickly to the girls than the boys.  We introduced him to my sister's 9 month old beagle, who is less than half the size of Jack, and Jack couldn't get close enough to me.  He was a big chicken.  But after a few sniffs, Jack realized he was OK and the two spent the afternoon chasing each other.  Jack even gets along with our very dominant female, who has not liked any of the other fosters we have brought home.  He is very submissive to her, so she is OK with him.  He met a cat at the vet's office and was not the least bit interested.

Jack loves to run around in the yard.  Our female boxer and Jack play until they are both worn out.  He will also happily entertain himself with any ball or stick he can find.  A fenced in yard and another dog would be nice.

Jack is crate trained.  He will go in easily, but he still does not like the crate.  We have also tried gating him in the kitchen and he did OK.  When I am able to work from home, Jack just sits on the couch and watches me.  He would really do well in a home where someone is home part of the day.

Jack is a fun loving boxer who will give you lots of love!  Jack is ready for his forever home and he can't wait!

05/24/06 - SAFE - They had him surrounded a number of times, but he managed to keep just clear of who ever got closest to him.  Then early this morning he was spotted sleeping on a neighbors porch.  They brought his canine foster sibling over to him, and he stayed.  They asked him to sit, something they had been working on, and he sat.  His leash went on, and it's over.

Thanks to all the volunteers that helped bring Applejack home!

05/21/06 - Missing

Applejack bolted out the front door of his foster home located in Gouldsboro PA at about 9am today, Sunday, May 21st.  This is near the Big Bass Lake area, 4 miles off of Rt 380, in Wayne County, PA.

He is very shy and will not easily come to people.  He is micro chipped and has an AABR Tag attached to a choke collar.

4/20/06 - Applejack

Applejack, or Jack as we call him, is a handsome 6 month old male boxer.  We picked up this very frightened little boxer on Sunday.  His eyes said, please don't hurt me!  We told him he was in for a great life now that AABR had him.

Well a little love will do wonders!  In just the few days we have had him, he now plays with his toys, sleeps upside down on the couch, knows sit, and wags his little tail when he greets us!

He is still a bit shy, especially of my husband.  But we are working with him and he is warming up to my husband.

At only 6 months old, Jack is housetrained!  He has not had one accident in the house.  We do not crate him when we are home and he sleeps through the night without an accident.  We are working on the crate training.  He is not happy with it, but has been doing OK.

Jack is a sweetheart who deserves a loving family and a safe place to call home!
