What makes Lucy so special? Well, we're not sure but everyone one who
meets her feels it! She loves other dogs, kids and everyone she meets.
She is obedient, and seems to enjoy and be grateful for the smallest of
life's offerings. You will feel it too... Just come visit her.

Lucy is a very sweet special girl. When I brought her
home and introduced her to my female boxer they got along instantly! She has
been a bit on the shy side not yet knowing what living in a home is all
about. She does not jump on any furniture and comes when you call her. She
really enjoys going for walks and car rides.
She is such a lovebug, giving love and snuggles is what
she is all about. Her first night with us we invited her to sleep in our
bed, which she obviously has never been in because she didn't know how to
get up into it and she fell off 4 times that night not realizing that there
are edges. She is just as happy to sleep in our room right next to our bed.
Each day she wakes up she is happier and more grateful
for being in a home environment. Lucy is eager to please and has learned to
sit and give paw within the short time we have spent training her.
She doesn't quite know how to let us know when she
needs to go out yet, but we have had great success as long as I take her out
on a schedule.
Any family will be very spoiled by Lucy who greatly
appreciates a warm loving home.

NYC
This is a story about a girl so sweet that
volunteers from two rescue groups have been working overtime to find her a
home. It’s also a story about hope and determination and a dog that has won
the hearts of all who meet her. And it’s a story that only you can give a
happy ending to.
Lucy NYC is not a boxer, but you know that already.
Her story is not particularly uncommon; stray dog picked up by animal
control. She’s fairly common looking, and unfortunately fairly scarred up –
her face, her head, her feet, well, you get the idea, she didn’t do well on
the streets. She’s the kind of dog that most people visiting a shelter will
pass on by – nothing special to look at. But…. give Lucy 5 minutes of your
time and you will understand why two rescue groups are determined to find
this girl a home. Lucy is full of life, full of love and the fact that
she’s been waiting for a very special family to claim her for a very long
time has not deterred her amazing spirit. Upon meeting her, you will
immediately understand what hope is all about.
AABR will not give up on finding Lucy a home – a home
that is as determined to bring love into it as Lucy is determined to fill
it. A family that was looking for a classic boxer but took one look at her
picture and knew their home would never be complete without this fairly
plain looking girl with the melt your heart eyes.
Please don’t turn your back on Lucy. She’s won our
love and we know she’ll win yours too.

We have been asked to help find this REALLY, REALLY
nice dog a home. The request came from the Mayor's Alliance in NYC. Lucy
came into one of the city shelters and the Alliance pulled her out to save
her life.
Lucy has been in a kennel in NYC for months. We are looking for a foster
or permanent home for her. Lucy likes other dogs, all people, and did not
mind a cat walking by.
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an
online application first. Then e-mail the contacts below. Be sure to include your full name, city,
state, and area code in the subject line of your message.
