Patsy
Patsy was surrendered by her puppymill owner/breeder. She had some
problems keeping weight on and wasn't an ideal candidate for breeding. We
are so glad she was given to us instead of being euthanized and we know she
will make someone a perfect companion.
Right now Patsy is very shy and nervous. We think she is going through a
false pregnancy. Patsy has been timid and tender with us since we picked her
up on Wednesday, April 12th. She seemed to be missing having pups, so I
stopped and bought her 3 little babies (stuffed toys), and she has been
keeping a watchful eye over them ever since. I gave them to her the minute I
got them in the car and when we got home she went right into her crate and
took the kibble out of my hand. One piece at a time at first but then she
ate her whole bowl and drank lots of water. She has continued to eat well
since that point and we are giving her lots of good food to put some weight
on her so she will be well enough to be spayed on Tuesday.
So far with her behavior I can't see anything but a sweet, loving, gentle
girl who would be happy in a home with warm blankets, full food bowls and a
loving family all her own.
She is not pleased to be around other dogs at the moment, and has not
been tested with cats.
Please consider giving her a home she'll treasure and stop the
unnecessary death of these beautiful dogs by adopting a rescued boxer.
