3/24/10 - MEMORIAL I adopted Bru in
March 2007...his tenth birthday would have been on April 1st. He
passed away on March 20, 2010. Bru was my first rescue dog and I was
lucky to have him for three years. He passed away quickly and
painlessly, under the care of a wonderful vet and in the arms of someone who
loved him dearly. He will never be forgotten.

Bruiser enjoys every minute of
life and he lives it up! He is such a wonderful dog and would be well suited
for many different types of people. He is very content with lying around and
relaxing 24/7, but if you have a more active lifestyle there's no doubt he
can keep up. He loves car rides, hiking, running and even dancing! But most
of all he loves to curl up in his crate and sleep- I know he's dreaming of
his new forever home- is that you?? If you are looking for a mature,
intelligent, calm dog to be your friend for life, then look no further! Fill
out the adoption application today!

This New Year Bruiser is
hoping to get a wonderful new home. Please consider taking this hassle-free,
calm boy into your home. He would like a home with no other pets, since he
had been the only pet for 6 years! He gets along very well with other
animals in the park, but prefers to live alone, and is wonderful on a leash.
What a pleasure to walk!
His ideal day consists of going for a walk or two, laying by the couch
(or on it!), and just relaxing. What a great companion. If you don't have
any other animals please consider making Bruiser a part of your home.

After some work with Kim (our
wonderful trainer), Bruiser is welcoming us as his pack leader. He is
getting along so much better with our female boxer! It is wonderful to see
how much Bruiser is loving just being a dog- he loves to run in the park and
meet and play with other dogs.
Bruiser is in need of a home where there is a strong role model and pack
leader. If you are up for this challenge, then fill out the application
today! He has taught me so much and I know he is excited to teach someone
else about being a strong capable pack leader.

Bruiser is one great dog!
He's been with me about 3 weeks now and he is settling in nicely. He is
fantastic with my two cats and is finally learning how to interact with
other dogs thru play! In his past life Bruiser, at first didn't want to (or
know how to) play, but now just try and stop him! We went hiking recently
and he loves the outdoors just about as much as he loves to curl up in a
ball and sleep :) I'm truly amazed at Bruiser's ability to move on with his
life and begin to trust other people. He's just such a great dog who is
waiting patiently for his new forever home. Please be his hero!

Bruiser really seems to get a
lot of security in his crate. He is very attentive and always comes when
called. He is quite curious about the cats but just wants to look and sniff.
He has never lived with another dog before so he is a bit possessive but
with some leadership he will get along just fine with other animals in the
house. Bruiser's ideal home would be one where he has a strong leader so he
feels secure and comfortable all the time. The only man he ever trusted died
and now the poor boy is scared, confused and hesitant to trust. He is a real
love bug and is ready for his forever home!
9/22/06 - In Foster!
Bruiser joined my home today and is fitting in very, very well! He is such a
pleasure to take a walk with since he lets you lead the way. Inside the
house he follows me everywhere and loves to play with the younger dog. His
encounters with the cats have been limited but extremely positive.
Bruiser has been used to living alone for so long that he is slightly
on-edge being with 3 other animals, but I know he will feel totally
comfortable in just a few days! He is ready to make a special someone feel
very happy and loved!

Bruiser
is waiting ever so patiently for a family of his own. Bruiser is a great dog
that has fallen on tough times. The only owner he ever knew passed away. He
is all alone in this big world with no humans to love him. He is house
broken and walks well on a leash. He has been forgotten.
He is a great dog that deserves a family that will love him. Will you be
his hero?
5/04/06 - Bruiser
Bruiser is a 75 lb, fawn, cropped & docked, and
extremely handsome 6 yr old male. Bruiser is being neutered and
brought up to date on his shots today. He is the product of a very sad home
situation. He has lost the home he has known since he was 1 year old.
Bruiser was in a home where he was the husband's dog and was loved and
cherished, but when the husband died, the wife did not want Bruiser.
How sad is it that a loved and cherished pet is turned out due to a death in
the family. Wouldn't you turn to your pet for that kind of comforting
companionship only a pet can give? Wouldn't you want him there for you
to cry with and talk to? When your heart is breaking, don't you want
to hug and hold your pet when you fall asleep at night? It amazes me
that someone would give up such a wonderful dog.
We met Bruiser for the first time this morning and he
is an absolute SWEETHEART!!! We loved him! He gave us kisses
right away and his little nub just kept wagging. He had not been in a
crate for 5 years and he walked into the vets office, little nub wagging,
sat perfectly still while they took a blood sample and walked right into a
crate. The vet tech came back to me and said "what a great dog - can't
you find a foster? - why does he have to go to a kennel?". You
see, we have no foster homes available and Bruiser is going to have to go to
a kennel. He is going to be confused and scared as he has never been
boarded before. We are pleading for some wonderful person to step up
and help this guy.
The owner reported that he did not show any
aggression toward the few dogs he encountered and that he was ok with kids,
although he was only around older kids. Bruiser is used to
someone being home most of the day so a home where someone is there part of
the day would be best for Bruiser. He will be in a kennel in PA thanks
to the kindness of the owners, Ann and Dave, who have made room for him, as
we just have no foster homes open right now.
We'll fill you in as we learn more about Bruiser.
If you can open your heart to this wonderful boy and give him a foster or
forever home, he'll reward you with love, devotion and lots of kisses!
