Scotty is a 9 month old wire haired Jack Russell Terrier (maybe a mix)
that was found as a stray by me back in October of last year.
He was a tiny pup that was horribly skinny. He was so scared when I
picked him up. He gained much needed weight, was vaccinated and we found him
what I thought was a good home with a family that has other Jack Russel's at
home. On their way home from picking him up the family made a stop near my
home and Scotty jumped out of the vehicle and got away from them. Scotty has
always remained timid around strangers and in his attempt to get away he
jumped into the nearby river and swam to the small island in the middle. the
family was unable to retrieve him and decided to leave him. They called us
the next morning to tell us what had happened. My husband immediately went
to where Scotty was lost to try to find him. After searching for an hour he
finally saw him hiding in the tall grass still on the island. My husband
(who can't swim) walked across the waist deep frigidly cold water to rescue
him. He has remained with us ever since.
He is now neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Scotty still
remains timid of strangers. Once he grows a new bond with his family he will
be a devoted loving member of the family. Scotty is housebroken, crate
trained, good with dogs of all sizes, both male and female, good with kids
of all ages. He is very high energy and would be great at agility. A country
home is preferred and a fenced in yard is a must. Scotty asks for a home
that is experienced with Jack Russells and will appreciate his enthusiasm.
