Looking for a home without cats - Update 04/02/09

8/31/09

Pookie is loving life! She's one happy girl - except for one thing - Pookie is still looking for her forever home. This poor girl has been in rescue for too long.  She deserves a home of her own. Pookie has a great deal to offer. She's an affectionate, fun loving gal who is as sweet and loving as she is beautiful. Pookie may have some health issues, but that isn't stopping her. It shouldn't stop you either!

Pookie would do best in a home where she can be the center of attention. As a true diva, Pookie would love to be the center of your affection. She would love a doggy door to let herself out to potty. If you're looking for a fun and dedicated friend and partner, please consider Pookie. This amazing girl will sweep you off your feet!

04/02/09

Pookie has been recently cat tested and should not go to a home with cats.

2/23/09

Pookie is doing so so well that she is more playful and active than all her foster brother and sisters put together.  She is happy and healthy!!!  She continues to do well on her diet and all natural supplement for her small kidneys. We have had her levels check on a regular basis and this girl is doing great!   All it takes is her low protein food and her all natural supplement (that are not expensive!!) and you will have a happy healthy girl for a long long time.  Please give Pookie a chance and I know you won't be disappointed.   She deserves a home of her own to romp and play.

10/09/08

Pookie is doing well. She loves to do "boxer bullets around the yard" and is so well behaved. She is patiently awaiting a home that is quieter and will let her live out her life in happiness!

9/15/08

Update - Pookie has come back to rescue because she needs a quieter home with adults only and few visitors. The coming and goings of many kids in the home was just too much for Pookie. Pookie would do best in a home where people are retired and she has access to a fenced in yard through a doggie door. It was discovered that Pookie was born with very small kidneys so she needs to relieve herself often. She needs to be on a special food so her kidneys don't have to work too hard. She is doing well on her food and gobbles it up each feeding. Some days she feels better than others but most of the time you would never even know she has anything wrong. If you can provide a loving home for Pookie for however long she will be with us PLEASE offer to give her the quiet loving home she needs. Pookie is just a young girl and has had a tough life so far. Please help us make her life happy and comfortable.

7/06/08 -

Meet Pookie, an 8 month old brindle female who was surrendered by her family. She is looking for a calm and gentle owner to work on her socialization and training. Pookie is crate trained and housebroken. She is a very loving girl and really wants to please. Pookie has lots of puppy energy and would benefit from a fenced in yard to run and play in. She can be placed with a submissive male or as an only dog.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
