4/1/10 - HAPPY BEGINNINGS!

Tucker was adopted into our family on February 27, 2009.  He and his new sister, Brittany, were both made official members of the Long family with new name tags engraved with their full names: Brittany Maeve Long and Tucker Reagan Long.

Tucker has been an absolute dream since day one.  He is so well behaved and is a great guard dog.  He has helped us immensely with training Brit as well.  We had been having problems with her leaving messes in the house while we weren't home.  She has really learned her manners and her potty training from Tucker.  Seems she learned from seeing and doing rather than being told.

On the one year anniversary that Brittany became our girl, we heard her bark for the first time.  I was as proud as a mother hearing her child utter her first word.  She learned how to be a guard dog, just like Tucker!

This February, we celebrated what's been dubbed "Doggy Day."  February 28 was Ace's birthday.  Since we don't know Brit or Tucker's real date of birth, we decided to make February 28 Doggy Day to honor our boy, Ace.  We celebrated Brittany's 5th and Tucker's 4th birthday with treats and ice cream.  Their Lhaso Apso cousin Stinkie helped them celebrate.

I wanted to share our story with you so that anyone interested in adopting can see what a wonderful experience it can be.  We have been so blessed to have Brittany and Tucker as part of our family;  I feel richer because of it.  They've become my children.  I cannot imagine how or why these two were not wanted in their former homes, but I suppose one man's trash is another man's treasure.  Everyone that meets them tries to sneak out the door with them because they fall in love with our kids.  Brittany's foster mom visits often with her adopted rescue Apollo and Brit loves every minute of their visits.  We are in constant contact with Tucker's foster family as well.  I recommend AABR to anyone that tells me they're interested in adopting and I love to show off pictures of my kids.

What your organization does for these dogs is just wonderful and I will always adopt from you should we ever decide to adopt in the future.  God Bless you and all that AABR does for these dogs.  Please enjoy and feel free to share on AABR's website the pictures I have attached.

Sincerely,
Matt, Valerie, Brittany and Tucker Long

02/27/09 - ADOPTED!

02/17/09

Update - Tucker is in a foster home with two other boxers and four cats. He is getting along really well with everybody and adjusted quickly to his new home. Tucker loves to play in the fenced yard and with his toys. He is housetrained and crate trained. Tucker's foster mom indicates that he is an extremely sweet and loving boy. Since he enjoys the company of his foster brothers and sisters so much, we would love to see him placed in a home with another dog to play with! If you can provide a wonderful, forever home for Tucker - submit your application for him today!

01/29/09 -

Tucker is a beautiful fawn boy who was found as a stray. He is estimated to be around 3 yrs old.

Tucker passed both the dog and cat test at the shelter without any problems. During his transport, he was very sweet and friendly with everybody that he met. Tucker will be going into a foster home soon and we will update his page once we learn more about him.

Thank you for your interest in Tucker !

Prior to adoption:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: Please see our adoption info by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
