Zena is now in foster.  We have included some new pictures of her at her foster home!

2/25/11

Zena is a cute tan and white girl who is lucky to still have her tail.  She is super sweet.  Zena currently lives with a dog and cat and children over the age of 8.  She is crate and house trained. Zena spends her time during the day in her crate, normally from 9-4, and then is out to free roam the house for the rest of the night.  She enjoys playing with her doggie friends.  Zena would benefit from a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play ball and burn off some energy.  She is trained and knows all the basic commands (sit, stay, down, etc).  Zena walks very nicely on her leash and currently uses the gentle leader collar to walk.   She enjoys playing with her toys and loves to spend time with her family.

2/18/11

Zena was adopted two years ago, but is now being returned to rescue.  She is in need of a foster or forever home.  Zena has been living with two children (8 and 11 yrs old), a cat, and a guinea pig. She would love to find a home that is there often and that hopefully has another dog to play with!  We will post additional information soon. Please apply today if you can help Zena by offering her a foster or forever home.

1/2009 - ADOPTED!

01/29/09

Zena is a doll, so sweet and loving. She is getting along great with my other dogs and has settled in like this is her home already!

Zena is completely housetrained. She walks well on the leash. Zena likes to play with rope toys or lay and chew on a bone. She shares all her toys, bones and food with any of my other dogs. Zena is a well behaved lady who enjoys to sit and be petted, lay at my feet, or play with her doggie friends. She is a big cuddle bug, too! Zena does well with the command drop it also if she picks up an item that is not hers. She will allow me to take anything from her (toy, bone) Zena goes in her crate and lays down like a good girl and I don't hear a peep from her until I go in and let her out when I return.

She has one eye, which makes her unique :) She gets a round great though just like any other dog.

She loves to romp around in the yard and play. Zena is extremely gentle and wiggles with happiness constantly :) She will make a lucky family-very happy!

01/13/09 -

Zena is a very pretty, young female who was surrendered to a high kill shelter because the previous owners were moving.

Zena is very sweet and lets you handle her all over. She seems to really like other dogs and wants to play. Lucky Zena still has her tail and is a happy girl.

Please offer to foster or adopt Zena.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: Please see our adoption info by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
