We have a bit more detail on Cammy's story.  Cammy was found by the police after a phone call was made about a distressed dog thrown over a 20 foot wall along water's edge.  The police had found her and the fire department had pulled her up to rescue using a harness.  After being rescued and examined by the vet in Delaware, it was discovered that most of her hip and foot injuries were actually 2-3 months old and not completely from the fall.  It is also a guess that her face is an old chemical or toxin burn that was never treated and has become severely infected.

Through all this, it is truly amazing how a dog that has been through so much abuse like Cammy can be so sweet!!!  She is such a happy and playful girl full of smiles, boxer leans, and tail wagging.  She will happily snuggle up to you and enjoyed the long car rides getting her to where she needed to go.  She is very gentle taking food from your hand and really appreciates the good meals.  Cammy is a love with a cute underbite that gets stuck in her lips.  She is a pretty girl and after a few "adjustments" will be beautiful!

Cammy will have to undergo a couple of costly surgeries to fix her hip and front foot, as well as expensive medication to treat her infection, but is expected to be a completely normal pooch after it is all said and done.  Please help us help Cammy out by making a donation on her behalf.  We would not be able to help these dogs if it weren't for the public's generosity.  Cammy is also in desperate need for a foster home for her recovery period.  Please help her in any way you can.  Thank you!

05/15/09 - CAMMY

Poor Cammy's story is absolutely horrifying!  Cammy was thrown off a bridge in Wilmington, DE. She was rescued and brought to the local shelter.  Cammy has numerous injuries right now and is being transported to a specialist where she can begin her new life with Adopt A Boxer Rescue.  Cammy was found to have a dislocated broken femur, several broken toes, and her face was hit pretty hard. She is emaciated and on top of that has several old injuries that were never taken care of.  This girl needs our help more than ever.

Her surgery and recovery will be extremely costly but AABR plans on getting her the best possible care that we can provide.  Cammy will need an immediate foster home to recover in after surgery.

PLEASE help Cammy out in any way that you can!  Let's all give her the love and care she deserves!

Please click on the Paypal button above and donate what you can toward her care.

Or, you can also send a check to PO Box 423 Harrison, NY 10528.

Thank you.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
