Hi!  Just a little update on Miss Sheena the Queena, as we like to lovingly call her here in foster -- because she is so regal in appearance and attitude!  This girl is so EASY to care for and love.  She is quiet, confident, loyal, and easygoing.  She likes to make sure everyone in the family is happy and safe.  Sheena loves people of all sizes and shapes, and quickly warms up to everyone she meets.  And as we recently discovered, she loves to play with toys too.  Don't you want an easy, trained, loving pooch?  Well then, Sheena is your girl!

Sheena is currently at a kennel waiting for her forever home. This girl is so sweet and loving. Her previous foster home had two children (4 and 12 yrs old), and Sheena loved to be wherever they were at. She is a very gentle and easygoing girl. Sheena is completely housebroken and crate trained. She is also trained to an invisible fence.  Sheena loves to be wherever you are at.  We are hoping to get her out of a kennel soon and back into a loving home. Please offer to foster or adopt Sheena!

Sheena would like to announce she is now available and ready for a home of her own. She has been very busy being a great Mom to her puppies, and now that each of them have gone to wonderful new homes, Sheena is quite eager to move forward with her own life. She has been looking forward to this day for quite some time. She has imagined having a family of her very own, to love, love, love her; a fairy tale life, where the princess lives happily every after. Although we will never know all Sheena has been through in her lifetime, we do know it has not been easy. She was found as a stray on the streets of a busy city – alone and pregnant. She was sick, hungry and underweight. Her babies were born in the kennel - not in a home. Fortunately for Sheena and her babies, they were able to go to a wonderful foster home. Her foster Mom has especially nice things to say about Sheena – she is a well behaved girl, listens well, loves to play with the other male Boxers in the home, is very happy when her grandchildren come to visit and is an all around great girl. If you are looking for a sweet Boxer girlie to live “happily ever after” with, why would you look any further? Sheena patiently awaits you.

Update - Sheena unexpectedly delivered a litter of puppies shortly after coming to rescue in July. Sheena and her puppies are in a foster home and doing wonderful. She will be ready for her forever home in early September once her puppies are weaned.

Sheena's foster mom reports that she is a confident girl with a wonderful temperament. She lights up when there are children around and she is with kids in her foster home.  She would love to go into a home with kids.

Sheena is great with other dogs, but would do best in a home without cats. She sits politely for dinner and will shake hands with you. This loving girl deserves a forever home - please apply today to adopt Sheena!

Sheena is a super sweet and laid back boxer girl who came into the shelter as a stray and is estimated to be around 4 years old.

She quickly became a favorite of the staff at the shelter. Sheena is all wiggles and very non-reactive to other dogs. She is great on leash and is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky family.

Apply today if you are interested in fostering or adopting Sheena!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
