Modine, known as Glacier to her foster family, has been with us for almost a month! She is the most loving of little ladies! She sleeps a lot during the day, but she also loves to run around our kitchen island and play in the backyard! Glacier is completely housebroken, but she needs to be let out every 3-4 hours. She will sleep through the night. Glacier loves my children and can't get enough love from them. Her ideal home will have children because she is happiest when around them.

Glacier is definitely a lovebug! She wiggles and hops every time we come home or wake up in the morning. It is the best greeting ever! Glacier knows some basic signs....she knows no, yeah, sit and stay. As long as she looks at you, you are good to go. She has the best cocked head look as she is watching your signs and it makes me smile every time. She follows either myself or my children around much more so than my boxer boy. She appears to trust humans more than dogs. Glacier would be completely fine in a home without another dog. She loves attention and wants to know where her humans are at all times.

Please give this beautiful girl a chance and you will not be disappointed. She is the most loving dog and needs a forever home! If you are home during the day or able to get home, Glacier is the dog for you! She will provide you love for years to come!

What a pleasure it is to foster Modine in my home while her foster family is on vacation. Modine is just the sweetest girl going. She lights up when any of my kids walk into the room. Modine did very well with 2 of my male dogs. She is a good girl and I hope someone will overlook her deafness and give her the best home that she deserves to make up for the obviously bad life she had. I love Modine and I wish I could keep her to ensure her the best life, but with 4 other dogs it's just a dream. Please open your hearts to this great girl. She was spayed today at the vet and is all set to go to that great home.

Modine is the right dog for you if you want….. A dog that is easygoing, gentle, and a complete lovebug.... A dog that is crate trained, housebroken, and wonderful to walk on leash.... A dog that is low energy and perfectly content with a slow stroll through the park..... A dog that LOVES, LOVES, LOVES kids of all ages..... A dog that is both mature enough to be gentle and calm when need be, but also young at heart for playtime.... A dog that has the cutest, wrinkly, most lovable boxer squish face - a perfect family dog!

Modine is not the right dog for you if you want….. A jogging partner..... A puppy that destroys the house, jumps all over people, and is really high energy...... Another project.

So….is Modine the right dog for you???

3/15/10

You know you want to take her home, just look at that smush face!! Modine is the sweetest thing going. She is full of boxer kisses. She is great with other dogs, in fact, Modine will definitely need one around in her next home. She is also great with my cat. My cat introduced himself right away, and there have been no problems. So now we know... Modine + dog savvy cat = ok!

Modine is an absolute love. She will just need someone to let her go out and relieve her bladder frequently because she is prone to UTI's if she has to hold it for too long. But she is housebroken! So if you have to work, maybe you can come home and let her out during lunch, or maybe you have a dogwalker that pops in to let the dogs out or take for a walk? Modine is a lovely lady and just very sweet. A moderate energy girl, she doesn't need much.....

3/7/10

Modine is in urgent need of a new foster home where somebody is home often or can let her out frequently during the day. Modine is currently at the vet's office and is being treated for a reoccurring urinary tract infection. Her previous foster home has a long work day and is unable to let Modine out during the day. Modine is great with other dogs and children. She is a sweet and easygoing girl - you will quickly fall in love with this gentle girl. Please apply today if you can foster Modine!

Modine is now in foster and is doing well! She has been nicknamed Glacier by her foster family. Modine is living with a young male boxer and two children. She is adjusting well and appears to be both housebroken and crate trained. Modine needs some much needed weight. She is great with new people and is a very sweet, loving girl. Apply today for Modine!

1/6/10 -

A day after Billy came into rescue with a broken leg from being hit by a car, we received a plea from the same shelter for this senior white female. Modine was found as a stray and had also been hit by a car. Luckily, she appears to have just cuts and bruises - but she is being checked over by the vet. Modine has allowed everyone to examine her with no problems - she is a very quiet and gentle girl. Modine also paid no attention to the other dogs that she was introduced to at the shelter. She is very emaciated and the shelter reports that she is deaf. This sweet girl will be going into a foster home soon, where she can get some much needed TLC. We will update her page once we know more about her. Thank you for your interest in Modine!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
