Ozzy was a great boy! Him and his wonderful quirks...the things he did and his facial expressions! (AH, his grin...every so often I'd get this facial expression, nothing more than a big grin)) Ozzy loved to play with my other Boxer, Diamond, a constant tug of war for toys (but Diamond was the the boss)...then they'd stop and chill together on the sofa or in the crate. He loved to curl up next to you and smother you in kisses and then just gently rest his head on your chest, arm, or leg and doze off. Sometimes, I was always afraid Oz would drive off with my car, whenever I went to the store on short runs there he was with me going for one of favorites "a car ride", it never failed when I came out that he was sitting in the drivers seat! Lately, he began to tell me when he wanted to play or go for a walk -he'd drop his ball, toy, leash or collar in front of me. Before we went on his final walk, he did his leash and collar drop... I just heard something a philosophy question; something like this "do you believe in heaven? do you believe dogs go to heaven? if dogs don't go to heaven, how can it be heaven?" I know I'll be with Oz again!

2/5/10 -

Meet Ozzy! He is an energetic 6-8 year old male who was surrendered to a local high kill shelter.  Since AABR saved him, he has been settling into his new foster home and is doing great. Ozzy is reported to be good with children and is currently living with a female boxer. He is housetrained, and follows his boxer housemate out the doggy door. Ozzy is a little on the thin side, but has been eating with gusto. Apply today to adopt this great guy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
