Santana is being returned to
rescue because her new family does not feel she is a good fit for them.
Santana would love a home with a fenced yard and somebody that can let her
out mid-day for potty breaks. She is so sweet and loving - she just
adores people. Apply today if you can provide a foster or forever home
for Santana!

Here are some new pictures of
Santana! She is such a happy girl in foster!
9/4/10
Angel! That's all you can say about this sweet girl. Santana (Tana)
has been in foster for a few weeks and it is going great. Tana came to AABR
as a stray when she crawled into a strangers car and wouldn't get out. That
was probably the best day in Tana's life, because that brought her to AABR
and hopefully soon to her forever home! At her foster home, she keeps
everyone laughing with her
funny face and wiggling body. She tries so hard to sit still, but the
wiggles just take over. Tana is just the sweetest, happiest girl in the
world. She wiggles her nubby tail and smiles at the same time.
It looks like life before might have been hard for Tana. She has cropped
ears that make her look tough, but she is anything but tough! Despite
everything, she couldn't love people more. Tana gets along with other dogs,
loves to play and run, but also likes to cuddle in your lap. There isn't one
mean bone in her little wiggly body. Tana walks great on the
leash and she loves to play with people and other dogs. As a young boxer, she
has lots of energy so she'd love to go to a home with people that are
willing to give her the exercise she needs, not to mention lots and lots of
love. We promise you...you will never find anyone that appreciates love more
than Tana. Please consider giving Tana a forever home to call her own!

Santana has been in her foster
home for 2 days now and is doing great. She is grateful for the nice people
at the kennel that took care of her, but she loves being in a home. She is
the SWEETEST boxer in the world. She is full of energy and loves, loves,
loves to give kisses. No one told her that she is too big to be a lap dog so
she curls up in your lap whenever she gets the chance. From the looks of "Tana"
she's likely never known a loving home, but she doesn't hold that against
anyone. She just wants to be loved and to play. She would do great in a home
with a fenced yard so she can run around. She seems to get along with other
dogs and she does great on a leash. Santana is learning her basic manners.
She knows how to sit and lay down so far, but she will be learning other
basic skills soon. We will update her page as she settles in!

Santana, who is often called
Hannah at the kennel, has been spending time
with our volunteers, but she would really love to get into her
own home. Santana rides well in the car and walks great on leash. She really
enjoys hiking and loves to go into the water. Santana likes to be brushed
and will sit politely for a treat. This girl will kiss you nonstop! She is
going to make a wonderful, loyal companion. She gets along great with other
dogs and has been playing with the other boxers in the play yard at the
kennel. She may look like a tough little lady, but is all love! We have
included a recent video taken of Santana. Apply today!

It has been almost two months
since Santana came into rescue, and we don't understand why this beautiful
girl is still sitting in a kennel, waiting for a foster or forever home. She
is one of the happiest and friendliest boxers you will meet - this girl just
loves everyone! Santana is always ready for a kiss and she loves to go for
walks. She has been playing well with the other boxers at the kennel in the
play yard. Since Santana is an energetic girl, she would benefit from having
a fenced yard to run and play. Please give this sweet girl a chance at
getting into a home - apply today to foster or adopt Santana!
4/6/10
Santana is currently at the
kennel and in need of a foster or forever home. Her temporary foster mom
indicated that she is a great girl. Santana walks well on leash with her
harness and she greets other dogs well. Santana went to the park with her
foster mom's friend and his dog, and did great! Santana knows sit, but she
needs work on her other basic commands. She also needs somebody to work with
her crate training.
Santana absolutely loves people - everybody is her best friend. She loves
to be near you and give kisses. Santana is an energetic girl, and would
definitely benefit from having a fenced yard to run and play in. With some
basic manners, Santana is going to be a wonderful girl for a lucky family.

-
Santana jumped into a woman's car when she was getting into it after work
and she was then taken to the shelter by animal control. Everybody at
the shelter just loved her and they were surprised that nobody came to claim
this outgoing and friendly girl.
Santana was transported today to our vet's office, where she will be
brought up to date on everything. When I met Santana, she was full of energy
and was very excited to be leaving the shelter. She couldn't stop wiggling
everywhere and giving kisses - she even snuck several of them in from the
backseat during the car ride to the vet. This sweet girl is just full of
charm and personality. She is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky
home - apply today to foster or adopt Santana!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com. Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
