When you look the word "Pretty" up in the dictionary, the meaning is: pleasing by delicacy or grace - and that’s Gracie! Pretty is just one of the many adjectives used to describe this pretty perfect dog! I had the pleasure of Gracie spending the weekend with our family and going to the "Because your dog is worth it too" event with AABR! It was an AWWWW weekend where Gracie melted all who met her especially our family. She fit right into our pack, charming our big boy and giving him a sweet girl who loves to play. Gracie did some public relations in the neighborhood where every neighbor young and old all fell madly in love with her! Gracie is great with other people, all dogs, and even cats~ Pretty much a Pretty, Perfect Dog!

Gracie was spayed yesterday and is doing very well. She loves the kids and will run and play with them in the house. She loves when they play on the floor and she rolls on her back and wiggles at them upside down. Gracie is housebroken and getting used to the crate. She will jump and run in the yard like she has 4 legs. This girl doesn't know she has one missing. She is not a barker. Gracie loves people and is ready for her forever home!

We have great news from Gracie's vet appointment. Dr. Hodges thoroughly examined our sweet Gracie girl and NO surgery is needed. He said she will strengthen her back end with use. He prescribed a supplement to keep her joints and hips working for life! Gracie will soon be spayed and she will then be ready for her life long home! Gracie is doing wonderful with the children and other dogs in her foster home. She is going to be a great addition to a lucky family - apply today to adopt Gracie!

7/7/10 -

Gracie is a 3 legged boxer that came in as a stray to a Kentucky shelter. She was microchipped, but when the shelter called her home - they had given her away. Gracie is only 7 months old and has issues with her back end - she seems sore and not able to walk very well. According to the prior owner, Gracie was hit by a car which resulted in the amputation of her leg.

AABR has a wonderful Doctor (Carlos Hodges) that has committed to taking her on and getting her the best care he can give her; replacing the hip if needed. We are working on a transport to Pennsylvania for this weekend. Do you have the love in your heart for Gracie? Do you have the time to commit for this special girl? Please apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
