Tigger is city living and is doing just great!  He is such a calm dog and we never hear a peep from him.  Tigger gets along with everyone during his walks - he loves to give and receive love from each and every person he passes.  This adorable boy just needs a home that can love him.  Tigger enjoys playing and going on walks.  When he is at home, he loves to lay and snuggle.  Tigger would love a home with someone that spends quality time with him - somebody who can exercise him and give him a life full of adventures.

Tigger is being crate trained.  He is learning more and more each day - and is only getting better!  Tigger has never had a consistent home - and that is all he wants.  He was found as a stray when he was just a puppy and tossed around to different shelters.  Please find it in your heart to give this sweet boy a chance to live the life he deserves.  Apply today to foster or adopt Tigger!

9/10/10

Tigger is getting more and more comfortable with his foster family every day! He is walking on a leash like a pro and he doesn't pull even one bit. He's put on some weight and is no longer showing any symptoms of his upper respiratory infection. Tigger has been around plenty of new people and dogs, and he gets along great with all of them. He's extremely friendly and falls in love with everyone he meets, especially kids! This sweet dog needs a forever home and a family to give him the life he deserves. Please give this special dog a chance!

7/19/10 -

Tigger is a six year old male boxer mix who was dumped at the Brooklyn shelter because his family was moving and they could not take him along. Tigger was on the euthanasia list at the shelter and we scooped him up right on time! This was the second time Tigger was surrendered to the shelter. He was found as a stray puppy back in 2004, with some cuts and bruises on his body.

Tigger was very well behaved in the car on the transport from the shelter to his foster home. Tigger is an absolute sweetheart - very easy going and submissive. He is extremely friendly and gets along great with other dogs.  He has yet to be tested with cats. Tigger has been introduced to many new people coming in and out of his foster home and he wags his tail at each of them. In just a couple of days, he has become attached to his foster family and follows them wherever they go. Tigger knows his basic commands and he is completely house broken. Tigger is a very quiet dog and we have yet to hear him bark! He needs a little work on the leash, but he is quickly learning. He is under weight and we are working to get some weight on him. He is also on medication for an upper respiratory infection, which should clear up within the next week. Once he is completely healthy we are taking him in to get neutered.

We are hoping to find him a home where he can recover and receive some much needed love and affection. Tigger has been abandoned many times in his short life and deserves a second chance. Do not disregard this dog just because he is a mix! He is just as special as any other dog and ought to be given the same chance. Please help find Tigger a home. He is such a sweet dog and he deserves a home where he can spend the rest of his years.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
