Bandit has been returned to rescue because he was becoming very anxious with all the traffic coming in and out of the house. He would do best in a quiet home without children. Bandit would also do best in a home without cats, as he becomes very focused on chasing them. Bandit is an active boy who really loves to run and play in a fenced yard. He would love to have an energetic, young female dog for a companion. He is now back with his previous foster family and is settling in well! If you can provide a forever home for Bandit, apply today!

What can I say about Bandit (Bandi)! He’s Awesome!!! Bandi has been in our home since August and is getting more independent every day. He still likes his foster brother or sister to initially go outside with him, but he’s okay now to run around the yard after they come back inside. He loves playing fetch outside with his collection of tennis balls/soft balls. He’ll even bring them back – well….sometimes!!! He enjoys being chased or to do the chasing (he always beats me) and boy can he run fast and jump high. He’s very gazelle like with his leaps in the yard and he refuses to use the stairs on the deck – he just jumps from the ground to the lower deck then right up to the upper deck; no stairs needed for Mr. Bandit thank you very much :).

Bandi loves people and is good with kids. He met my parents last week and they were very impressed with not only how super cute he is, but also his overall good manners. Bandi likes to cuddle up on the couch, bed, or on one of the dog beds with his foster sister and brother. Bandi is still a little skittish with loud noises or quick movements, but is improving on these as time goes on. Bandit would do best with a younger female dog to keep him company, rough house with, and to help him gain more confidence.

Bandit has been in our home for a little less than a week and I can’t say enough wonderful things about him. He’s such a sweet boy and has the very best manners. He is completely potty trained and goes into his crate with no problem. He knows what “No Bandit” means and will cease whatever mischief he may be thinking about. Bandit likes to run and play outside like a typical boxer, but seems content to just relax when inside and play with a toy on his dog bed (or in the recliner with his foster dad). He also loves spending time relaxing and napping with his foster sister and brother or at times stealing their toys and making a run for it. Bandit is looking for a forever home that will give him the love and devotion that he deserves; he is so excited about life and loves to explore new things. He would do best in a home with a female dog,! as he is used to always living with other dogs and seems to really en joy this. Apply today for Bandit!

8/19/10 -

Bandit and Princess were surrendered to the shelter when their owners moved. Bandit is a handsome 1 year old brindle male. He is great with other dogs and very friendly with people. Bandit is also reported to do well with children. He is housetrained and crate trained. Bandit will be neutered soon and ready for his foster or forever home. Apply today for Bandit!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
