Garrett is now up to 32 lbs! His neuter appointment is scheduled for next week, and he will then be up to date on everything!  Garrett loves to run as fast as he can in the yard, boxing with his foster sister. He went hiking twice in the mountains over the weekend, and he loved it! Garrett has a lot of energy and enjoys going on walks.  He travels wonderful in the car - he finds a good spot and sleeps the entire way.

Garrett also started puppy kindergarten this week, where he will be getting a lot of socialization and working on his obedience skills. He picks up things very quickly and is very friendly with all the people he has met. This sweet puppy is going to be a wonderful companion for a lucky family!!

Garrett has been adjusting really well at his foster home.  He is getting along great with his foster brother and sisters, and is even starting to run with them in the fenced backyard.  He pays no attention at all to the two cats, even when they are pestering him.  Garrett is eating four small meals a day, and we are working to get his weight built up gradually so he is strong enough for his neuter surgery.  Garrett has not had a single accident, but he is taken out frequently due to his age.

Garrett would love to be in a home where someone is there during the day.  He really enjoys being around people and loves to snuggle close to you.  Garrett does well in the crate while you are home and sleeps through the entire night.  He has discovered the joy of squeaky toys, and never tires of pulling new ones out of the toy box.  With each day, he is becoming more energetic and displaying those wonderful boxer qualities!  We are really enjoying our time with Garrett.  He is going to be a great addition to a lucky home!

8/26/10 -

Meet Garrett - an adorable boxer puppy estimated to be around 6-8 months old. Garrett was found as a stray and this poor boy is emaciated and weighs only 26 lbs. He will be neutered once he is in better condition.  Garrett is very sweet with people - he just wants to be given attention and is always trying to snuggle and get close to you. He met several other people today on his transport and at the vet's office - his nub was going as fast as he could wiggle it and he just soaked up the attention.

Garrett arrived at his foster home this evening, and will be given some much needed TLC. He will be fostered with three other dogs and two cats - we will update Garrett's page once we learn more about him. Garrett would love a home that is there often and that has a fenced yard for play time! Apply today for this sweet boxer puppy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
