5/20/11 - MEMORIAL To my sweet Mandy
girl:
I was so lucky to have you come into my life in August 2010. Your sad life
as a
puppy mill mom ended that day. No more cage, no more outside living,
and no more babies. You became a pet that day. I'll never forget your
eyes that day glaring into mine, lost and scared. I was fully committed to
providing you the best life and making up for all your lost years. I knew
very shortly after you came into my life, I would never let you go. You
were in your forever home, my home. Where you were loved, cherished, and
held my heart. In return, you gave me so much more.
I was determined to show you love and what is was like to be a dog, a
companion, and a pet. I have so many wonderful memories with you just
enjoying life. I loved seeing your sweet face resting on the couch each
day, laying in the sun light, running in the yard, your nub wiggling and
your sweet face smiling at me in your eyes. I saw happiness. I saw a
different dog...a dog that loved life and loved all the time we spent
together.
Your life ended way to soon. You deserved so much more. I am so grateful I
got to spend 9 months everyday with you. You gave me so much love and
happiness. I miss seeing you everyday and your soulful eyes. You will
always have a
special place in my heart your paw prints will remain on my soul. I
find peace in knowing that you are pain free and running free. I am sure
your fur brother, Bruno was waiting at the
Rainbow Bridge to greet
you.
RIP my sweet girl, Mandy. 5/16/11
Forever Remembered, Forever Missed.
With all my love, Jamie

Hi, it's Mandy. Well, I have
been enjoying my new start of life with my foster mom. She keeps telling me
every day I am blooming more and more & how proud she is of me. I am now
doing great in the car and lay down and enjoy the ride. I am loving my new
doggie bed and am actually sleeping in it instead of next to it. I am
starting to trust people more each day. I have learned what toys and treats
are and I join the doggie pack when my mom calls and I even learned how to
sit. My mom says I am definitely a smart cookie and food motivated. I rarely
bark and am pretty low key and shy.
I recently went on a vacation with my mom and did great meeting the rest
of the family and the other
family dogs, 4 to be exact. I enjoy other dogs company, but I don't
really know how to play - so I would rather have a doggie pal that will just
hang out with me. I have been around children recently and enjoyed their
company. My favorite thing to do each day is to lay out back on the patio
and sunbathe. At night, I hang out by my mom or am a
couch potato. I am just
a laid back gal enjoying life.

Mandy was surrendered to AABR from a local
puppy mill where she lived her whole life. She is 4 years old.
Mandy is very loving and sweet, but is very shy until she gets to know and
trust you. She follows me around all the time to the point I trip over her,
but her sweet face and eyes get me every time. Mandy is in a foster home
where she is learning to be a pet and learning socialization. She is
currently living with 3 resident dogs, which she enjoys spending time with
them.
Mandy has had a rough start in her life, but is looking for a family to
provide lots of love to her and build trust with her. She is doing well
walking on her leash. Mandy learned how to use the doggie door within a few
days. She has met a few children and seemed to do well with them. She will
need proper time to adjust to her new life. Mandy is a sweet loving dog and
deserves a life full of love. |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
