9/24/10 Ranger
here - I wanted to tell you a little more about myself. First and foremost,
my leg is healed!!! No more stinky casts for me :)
My foster mom says I am ready for a forever home - a family that can be
committed to helping me understand that the world isn't going to hurt me.
See, I've spent most of my puppyhood in a cage because of my broken leg, so
when I go out into the world, I am just not sure about people or dogs and I
get scared. Now that my leg is better, my foster moms say we are going to
start working really hard on helping me learn that the world is a good place
and the best thing is, they say it involves lots of treats (I am definitely
in if that is the case)!
I don't like to brag, but I am a really smart guy (oh, and cute too, of
course). I learned this game where I put my nose to my foster mom's hand,
they call it touch, and I got it within two tries; they say I am brilliant!!
I have two favorite past-times: first, I love to play with balls. It
doesn't matter what kind as long as they are mostly round. I also enjoy a
good game of tug-of-war. I may be little, but I am mighty :)
I LOVE my foster sister and my foster brothers are okay too. Okay, my
paws are tired from typing now, I think I am going to go lay down with a
tennis ball. Now don't forget to put in your application with my name on it
and hopefully I will meet you soon!

Ranger
is settling in well at his new foster home. He gets along great with his
foster sister and 4 foster brothers. He was cat tested today and although he
did chase, he was fine with the kitties when they didn’t run first. Ranger
knows all his basic command and even some tricks, including play dead and
roll over. He is also housetrained. Ranger is definitely ready for his
forever home where he can snuggle up and give Boxer kisses. Please consider
Ranger as an addition to your family today!
8/2/10 -
Ranger had a broken leg, but his previous home did not have the finances
to support his medical needs. Their vet suggested that they contact AABR for
help, and they surrendered Ranger to rescue. Ranger had his surgery thanks
to the great doctors at Valley Central Referral Hospital. He is currently
recovering from surgery
and will have several weeks of restricted activities to properly heal.
Ranger will be moving into a foster home soon and we will update his
progress as soon as we know more!
When he has fully recovered, Ranger will be a typical
boxer puppy. His favorite toys are stuffless/soft and oversized ones
that squeak. He loves to play
tug of war with a thick rope. Ranger is good with other dogs and
children of all ages. Thank you for your interest in Ranger!
