1/4/11 - Happy Beginning!

We adopted Rocki (Tinkerbelle) on October 24,2010. She is AMAZING!! My husband, two daughters (10 and 9), and myself drove to Pennsylvania to meet Rocki. She was with a lovely foster family who took such good care of her for 2 months. When we first saw her, it was kind of shocking how skinny she was and her overall appearance because of the neglect and over breeding she endured before reaching her foster home. Her foster mom, Jen, assured us she was wonderful with her children and a real sweetie. So, we took her home.

She was really timid for the first few weeks and scared. Now, she is the sweetest, silliest and friendliest dog in the world! We have taken her for check ups, vaccinations and finished up her heart worm medications and she has a clean bill of health!!! Rocki was house trained and continued doing beautifully in our home!!! She has gained weight and looks AWESOME!!! Rocki is AMAZING with my children and all the kids coming in and out of our house. EVERYBODY loves her!!! The only problem is ALL my daughters’ friends are begging their parents for "A dog just like Rocki"!! We all love her so much and can't imagine life without her!!!!!! Thank you AABR for connecting us to Rocki!! Your organization is WONDERFUL and my family and I constantly sing your praises.

10/24/10 - Adopted!

9/21/10

Tinkerbell is still looking for her forever home. She completed her heartworm treatment and is doing well. Her foster mom said that Tinkerbelle is a very sweet girl, though a little shy when she first meets you.  Once she trusts you, she will follow you everywhere. She gives gentle kisses and rarely jumps up. She's a smart girl and responds well to corrections. Tinkerbell knows sit and sits for mealtime, but needs work on her leash manners. She can be very playful and loves to play with toys. She likes stuffed toys and balls. Tinkerbell will fetch and retrieve, laying the ball at your feet. She does well with children and is currently being fostered with a 5 and 7 year old. This sweet girl deserves a home to call her own. Please apply to adopt Tinkerbelle.

8/4/10 -

Tinkerbell and Sunny were brought into the shelter by animal control. The shelter called the owner and sadly, she did not want them back.  Both dogs are housetrained and have been around cats and the owner’s children, which are between 10-12 years of age. They have been brought up to date on shots and are spayed. Tinkerbell and Sunny are a light heartworm positive.  They are very thin and could use some TLC. We would like to get them into foster homes so we can learn more about them. Please apply to adopt or foster one of these sweet girls.

Prior to adoption

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
