5/17/11 Dallas
was neutered and is ready for a forever home. He continues to improve each
day. The Vet said he may be more susceptible to respiratory infections, but
antibiotics clear them up in no time. He likes to run and play in the yard
with the other dogs, but Dallas is truly a
couch potato. If you are looking for a super sweet dog to curl up on
the couch with - Dallas is your man. Please consider giving this sweet boy a
forever home.
2/13/11
Dallas
has completed his last heart-worm treatment and is doing well. He was able
to get out of the house and go to his first public appearance at a Petsmart
adoption event. He was a real crowd pleaser. Once he receives the vet's
approval, he will be neutered and will be ready his forever home. Please
apply and give this sweet boy the loving home he so deserves.
12/20/10
Dallas
wanted to send all his generous supporters big boxer kisses for their
donations, prayers and good thoughts. Our Dallas is a strong boy and is
doing well considering all he has been through. He recently had his staples
and drains removed from his incisions and received the approval from the
cardiologist to start the immiticide treatment to kill the remaining adult
heart worms. He recently had his first injection and so far seems a little
uncomfortable, but is doing well. The next few weeks will be critical
because he needs to stay very calm and quiet to avoid any complications from
the dying heart worms. We will continue to update his page with his
progress.
Dallas still has a long
road to recovery, but what better gift than to have a loving forever
home waiting for him. Please consider opening your heart and home to this
wonderful dog.
12/01/10
Dallas
had his surgery yesterday. As they were finishing, he went into
cardiac arrest. They were able to revive him, but he is still in
critical care. Thankfully, he made it through the night and is now off
oxygen. Dallas may have to remain in the critical care unit for another few
days. His surgery was $5400, and he will have additional medical bills
for treatment. Please help us with his medical costs! All
donations are tax deductible and sponsorships for Dallas will go towards our
efforts in saving this sweet boy's life!
11/30/10
Dallas
is a sweet boxer boy that needs your help. He has advanced heartworm
disease, causing his cough and respiratory difficulties. His best shot
of recovery is a very expensive surgery to remove the bulk of the
heartworms, which will cost between $3,500 to $4,500. Dallas will die
without this surgery. He has over 30 heartworms surrounding his heart
and has more worms near his liver. If AABR did not pull this boy from a
South Carolina shelter, he would have died.
I am begging for you to please find it in your heart to sponsor this
sweet dog so he can have the surgery and a chance at a long, happy life in a
forever home.

pictures of Dallas!
11/14/10 -
Dallas was an owner surrender to the shelter because his family could not
afford to take care of him. He is a 4 year old fawn boy that was going
to be pulled by another rescue until they found out he was heartworm
positive. Dallas was out of time at the shelter, so they asked AABR to
help. He is currently being boarded at a vet in
North Carolina while he is waiting for transport up North. Dallas has
a long way to go before he is finally healthy and ready for the loving home
he truly deserves. Please help Dallas by sponsoring or fostering him today!!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
