Missy is an active girl and would love to find a forever home of her own. She loves children and is doing great with the other dog in her foster home. She is a great boxer girl. Included are some new pictures of Missy relaxing in her foster home.  Please offer this girl a loving home!

Missy is doing great!! She is truly a happy lovebug without any baggage from her prior experiences. You would never know she was dropped off in the shelter twice by her 2 prior owners. It's funny how the best dogs sometimes end up with the worst people. She and my male boxer are constantly playing - she has no clue that she is about 5 years older than he is. She caught onto the doggie door very quickly. Missy is extremely smart and obedient. She knows that the people are the boss - not the dog- and completely respects that. She comes as soon as you call her, knows all her basic commands, and gives you lots of love and kisses. Missy is still pulling on the leash, but we have a Yuppy Puppy no pull harness that helps a lot. She responds well to corrections while walking and is just so excited to be able to see the world. Missy is truly a great boxer girl that would probably do well in any situation. We have people (both big and small) coming and going all the time and she loves them all. She is great with little kids (we have a 3,4 and 10 year old). This enthusiastic girl is loving life. Apply today to adopt Missy!

Missy has fit right into her foster home. She is doing great with the 3 yr old male boxer in the home. Missy may look gray in the face, but she has no trouble at all keeping up with a younger boxer. They have been having a blast playing and making lots of boxer noises. She only weighs 53 pounds (she's a petite girl), but she is in great shape!

Missy is a confident girl and she knows her basic commands. She needs some work on the leash, but is a really smart girl and will pick it up quickly. Missy really wants to learn new tricks. She is very gentle with the kids and loves giving them kisses. Missy is going to be a wonderful girl for a lucky family - she is virtually perfect in every way. She deserves a home that can return all the goodness she has to give. Missy is a puppy at heart, but even better - she does not require potty training and is already obedience trained! Missy would love a canine friend to play with. Apply today to adopt this great girl!!

11/21/10 -

Missy was surrendered to the shelter because they reported she was "too active." She is great with other dogs and will be going into a foster home soon. Missy is 7 years old and she previously lived with children. We will post more information soon as her foster mom gets to know her better.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
