This donation is in memory of Betsi, a wonderful Boxer girl who, while terribly missed, will never be forgotten. Along with her brothers Henri and Little Joe, Betsi introduced us to the joys of the breed. It is largely because of her that we now have our wonderful boy, Toby, who was adopted through AABR in August. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Wow - Betsi is one special girl! She is loving being in a foster home because she can do her two favorite things: snuggle and play catch. Betsi joined AABR this weekend at an adoption event and was just adored by everyone that saw her. Everyone marveled at how soft she is. She has one very beautiful blue eye and one deep brown eye. She is completely housebroken, knows how to play catch, walks great on the leash, and knows how to stay in her crate. When left alone, she just lays down and waits for her "people" patiently. She is really the sweetest girl. Her boxer wiggle is in full force and her little nub never stops moving! Everyone at the adoption event when they saw her said "wow, so beautiful and such a sweetie. She'll definitely be adopted soon!" Let's hope they're right! Please consider giving Betsi a forever home!

We have included a short video of Betsi watching her favorite toy:

Betsi did wonderful on her transport today. She traveled well in the car and just curled up on the blankets and napped most of the trip. Betsi did really well with both boxer boys that she rode with, Porter and Bert. She is definitely one of the sweetest boxer girls I have met. Her nub never stopped moving, and she was so patient and easygoing. Betsi walked well on leash and she really enjoyed all the attention from the new people that met her today.  Betsi has been spayed and is now up to date on all vet care. Apply today if you can foster or adopt Betsi.  We would love to get this sweet girl out of the kennel and into a home soon!

12/02/10 -

Betsi was found as a stray and is estimated to be around 3 years old. The volunteers at the shelter indicate that she is a very quiet, easygoing girl. Betsi seems to do well with other dogs. Her eyes are very unique - one is half blue and half brown. Betsi has been spayed and brought up to date on all vet care. She will be arriving in Maryland on Saturday and will need a foster home to go to. We will update her page soon with more information and new pictures. Thank you for your interest in Betsi!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
