We adopted our terrific dog, Cooper, from AABR. Because he didn't have a birthday when he came to us, we assigned him December 12 so he could share this day with my husband, Jerry. Please accept this donation as his birthday gift. Cheers, the Shereshewsky Family..including the two boxers; Cooper and Hannah

Cooper is now in a new foster home with two female boxers!  He is used to having somebody home with him.  Cooper is now learning to use a doggy door at his new foster home.  We will update his page once his new foster mom gets to know him better.

2/2/11

Cooper's foster family is moving south at the end of the month, leaving Cooper in urgent need of a new foster home, or better yet - a forever home!  He is a wonderful boy and we don't want to see him in a kennel after being in a loving home for months.  Apply today if you are interested in fostering or adopting Cooper!

1/24/11

Cooper is doing well in his foster home. He is now neutered and is up to date on all vet care. Cooper came into rescue as a light heartworm positive and his treatment involves just taking a monthly Heartguard tablet.  He will be retested in 6 months to determine if he is heartworm negative at that time.

Cooper is an active boy and follows his foster mom everywhere. He is very loving and enjoys hugs. Cooper is often content to just lay his head in his foster mom's lap and fall asleep there. He is a gentle dog and is getting along well with the other dogs in his home. Cooper is completely housebroken and walks well on leash. He can be a little on the stubborn side, but he will sit and lay. Cooper just loves attention and snacks. His brindle and white coat is very soft with a beautiful sheen. If you are interested in adopting Cooper, apply today!

12/16/10 -

Cooper, nicknamed "McNubbin" at the shelter, is a brindle boy who was found as a stray and is estimated to be around 8 years old. He is a gentle and sweet boy. The shelter indicated that he was curious about other dogs and he did great with his behavior evaluation. This boy is in urgent need of a foster home. Please offer to help Cooper so he doesn't have to stay long at a kennel. Cooper would love a warm, loving home for the holidays!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
