4/5/11 At just under 50 lbs, Lucky is
a sweetie pie who would
make a great buddy for anyone looking for a companion. She has so much love
to give. She would be content to share a sofa for an afternoon nap or take a
ride in the car to keep you company. She likes short walks, running a lap or
two around the back yard, chasing a ball or a squirrel, and she would never
say no to a bite of your snack. Yet, spending a quiet day at home with a pal
is what Lucky wants the most. She is good with other dogs, but she
especially likes people. Lucky will stay with you while you weed the garden
or lay close by while dinner is cooking. Age wise, Lucky is a healthy senior
boxer so don't let her age scare you; she is not ready to give up on “living
the good life”. Lucky is hoping the right person/family will give her a
chance.
2/9/11
Lucky's foster mom has sent a
few new pictures. Lucky loves rubbing/scratching herself on the fence. She
travels one direction and then turns around and travels back so that both of
her sides get a good rub. After her daily scratch, she is ready to run a few
laps around the yard. It is hard to believe she is 9 years old, - she runs
as fast as the 3 year old boxer in her foster home. Lucky loves taking
regular walks and she never pulls. Apply today if you are interested
in adopting this wonderful girl!
2/2/11
Lucky was adopted last month,
but is being returned to rescue because it is not a good fit for her.
Sadly, she no longer has a foster home to go back to. If you can
provide a foster home for Lucky, please put your application in today!

My name fits me pretty well. Lucky is a one-word description of me. I was
lucky enough to have a good owner who took really good care of me for all
nine years of my life, but then one day, I became unlucky. I was brought to
the shelter and I thought my parents were just going on vacation and I would
be going home soon, but I am beginning to realize that I will never see them
again. All of my friends here tell me that they have been dumped here too,
that they were once lucky, some of them not but most of them were. I was
lucky enough to have a big, nice bed to lay on with all of my favorite toys
everywhere and sometimes I would even watch TV shows. Now, though, I have a
cold, hard floor to sleep on and I have to share bowls with other dogs as
well as the beds. I know that I am old and I have a lot of competition on my
hands. People see my age and automatically reject me, but I wish that
someone would give me a chance. I’m a great girl who has plenty of charm,
wit and most importantly, I can make you smile. I have heard that I
will be leaving the shelter soon to find a forever family that will care for
me and will bring some of that luck back into my life again!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
