George (Fedor) is still looking for a foster or forever home.  His owner is a fireman and is moving soon to Colorado.  Fedor is wonderful with people and is also cat friendly!  Included are some new pictures of him.  Apply today to help Fedor.

7/20/14

George, now known as Fedor, is being returned to AABR because his current owner is moving.  He is an approximately 5 year old Staffordshire Terrier mix.  Fedor is extremely affectionate and loves to be right next to his people whenever possible.  He is a great cuddler!

Fedor is used to being crated during the work day and he sleeps with his owner at night.  Fedor loves to play!  He would do best in a home with a fenced yard and room to run.  Fedor is an intelligent boy who understands all of his basic commands and also knows some hand signs.  This guy is very motivated and will do anything for food.

Fedor has lived with other dogs before and gets along well with them.  Fedor does better with dogs that are calm and respectful of him.  He has also lived with cats and loves them - even if the cats didn't like him!

Fedor is a great dog.  He is very loving and loyal to his people.  Fedor is well trained in the home.  He will be a fantastic companion for a loving, patient owner who has time to play and space for him to enjoy himself.  Please apply today to adopt this wonderful boy!

3/2011 - Adopted!

2/9/11 -

AABR received an urgent call from a Good Samaritan during the coldest weekend in January. She had found a dog that she had thought was a boxer - living in the stone quarry behind her home. He dug a hole under the shovel of a front end loader and that was his bed. He had no food or water and was literally freezing to death. She took him food and gained his trust. He then followed her home where she was able to get him warm, but she knew he needed more. One of our volunteers, Gail, said without hesitation that he could come to her kennel.

Meet Gorgeous George - the non boxer who came to AABR for help! We fed his empty belly, we quenched his thirst, and we gave him warmth, a soft bed, love, and understanding. We promised this gorgeous boy we WOULD find him his life long home - is that you? George was brought up to date on all vet care. AABR also neutered him so he is ready to go to his new home. George appears to be around 2 years of age. He is good with other dogs (he was in a temporary foster home with a Bichon Frise) and good with children. Please open your hearts and home and give this non boxer the forever home he deserves!

2011:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
