This guy is amazing! Satchel is the sweetest boxer around. Satchel loves to cuddle, give kisses, and be around people or dogs. Satchel had the chance to attend two adoption events this weekend. Not one person didn't pass by without saying how cute he is or how sweet he is. His fur is super soft.  Satchel will need some work with obedience and walking on the leash.  He gets along with dogs, loves people, and even did well with the kids that came to see him.

Satchel spent the night in a temporary foster home with four other dogs.  He did great with all of them.  Satchel seemed to be housebroken and he had no problems in the crate.  Satchel loves toys and treats. He also loves to catch balls, although he needs some help learning to bring them back. Satchel made everyone smile that he saw and the volunteers couldn't stop giving him hugs and kisses. This is one very, very special boxer that needs a home that is willing to train him the basics.  He's just about perfect in our eyes! Please, please apply to foster or adopt Satchel today.

It will soon be two months since Satchel has arrived in rescue. He is great with people and loves to play with other dogs. We aren't sure why this cute boy has not been able to find a foster or forever home yet. We would love to get Satchel out of the kennel and into a home environment. Apply today for this wonderful boy. He would love to find an active family to call his own!

3/14/11

It has been a month since Satchel arrived at our boarding kennel and we do not understand why he is still waiting there. We have volunteers that visit with Satchel weekly and they indicate that he is a wonderful boy. He is picking up his basic commands and doing better with leash walking with his harness. Satchel loves to play with the other dogs at the kennel. We would love to see Satchel out of the kennel and into a foster or forever home. Please apply today for Satchel!

Included are some new pictures of Satchel from his transport last week. This sweet boy is waiting at the kennel for a foster home.  Please apply today to foster or adopt Satchel!

2/13/11

Satchel was transported to Maryland today and has officially joined the AABR family. Everyone that has met him has commented on what a sweet boy he is! The people who were taking care of him at the kennel before he joined rescue indicated that Satchel can jump a 4 foot fence. They also reported that he seemed to do fine with other dogs.  Satchel has now been neutered and is up to date on all vet care. He is currently at our kennel until he finds a foster or forever home. Apply today for Satchel!

2/2/11 -

Satchel was found as a stray by a family when he tried to get in their front door during freezing weather in the early morning hours. The boarding kennel that has him temporarily indicates that Satchel is a really sweet boy with people and he seems to do well with other dogs. He has an irritated area around his neck where it looks like a collar was too tight. Satchel is a handsome white boy with one blue eye. He will be neutered and brought up to date on all vet care, and will then be looking for a foster home. Apply today for Satchel!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
